Since the ride does not begin and end at the same spot, is baby swap possible? If so how?

Rider swap at Disney does not need to begin and end at the same place as you aren’t sectioned off into another room to wait (such as at universal.)

How it works is once you are about to ride (if riding standby) or scan in with your $LL the person not riding will receive a return pass and step out of the line with the baby. You then go about doing whatever else you would like with your little and then meet up with your partner once they are done riding. Then you ride (with I believe it is still up to 2 other members of your party) while whomever is with the baby again does their own thing. Hth.

Thanks for your response! Unfortunately ROTR was down all day yesterday so we never got to do it! ☹️

Note that with rider swap, the baby and non-riding adult(s) does not even need to stand in the line at all. Just mention you want rider swap passes to the cast member as the first group gets in line, and they'll scan your tickets and basically give you a fastpass with a return time of whatever the current standby line is, if you're doing standby

Baby can go do a different ride while rest of group does the E-ticket, then handoff occurs and group 2 goes. Downside is, particularly for something like Rise, it takes a long time even if going through lightning lane! It's usually not long enough to do another ride, but too long to just sit around. So first group often gets bored waiting for 2nd group!

Protip: It gets a little fuzzy if you're using Genie+/LL on exactly which LL barcodes you're supposed to scan when the first group goes in... in theory you're supposed to scan all the LLs when the first group goes in (even though some people aren't riding then), and then when the 2nd group goes in, they use the rider swap passes to get in. But i've found that sometimes they only make you scan the LL for the riding people in group 1, saving the non group 1 LLs for later. If you have a big enough group, this might let you get a couple extra people on twice in group 2. Say it's group of 8, 7 adults, 1 baby. You book LL for all 7 adults. Tell cast member that 2 adults are going to stay with baby; they'll give you 3 rider swap passes. 5 adults go in group 1, and scan their LLs. When they finish, the 2 non-riders go in using their original LLs, and 3 others can use the rider swap passes, assuming everyone's phones are linked up. So you can basically do two groups of 5 with this method.

If you only have 3 or 4 riders though, it doesn't matter.
