Can anyone tell me about Ross Department Stores? I am heading to Las Vegas on the 5th of October:cool1: and I have nothing to wear. One of the girls I am going with says she always hits up Ross for clothes for Vegas.

I looked at their website, but you can't shop on-line, which means I have no idea what they have and what their prices look like.

Ross is very hit or miss with their clothes. I found the CUTEST Calvin Klein dress for CHEAP there.. only I needed one size larger.. couldn't find another one ANYWHERE! I did find an awesome pair of shorts for $10 that were normally $40.. A lot of stuff I saw there was just "meh".. But it is my understanding that you really just have to go there and dig around often and some very good deals are to be found there!

Ross is one of my favorite stores, especially for dresses. It is very affordable and has a large selection.

It does, however, require some work. They are generally big with lots of inventory. You will not find 6 of the same dress in every size there is, so you really have to go through all the racks. The payoff is terrific though!

Have fun!

These is also a Ross in Vegas that I hear has some great stuff!

To me Ross is not nearly as good as TJMaxx. The only thing I shop there for is rugs for the house, indoor and outdoor, they do have good prices on those.

We love Ross! Just like another poster posted its hit or miss. DD14, DH and I love going to different ROss stores in the area and surrounding stores-lol! Its a store where theres something for everyone.

DD14 find lost of clothes there. She also find shoes too.She loves the purse selection there

Dh- he will find belts, shirts or tool type things

Me- I find houshold stuff, kitchen tool gadgets, found a cute pair of sckethcher sandals $19.99, 1x cute style blouses for me. Baking pans

They also sell toys and baby clothes, kids clothes, pet stuff, spieces, teas, coffee, chocolates etc.

Now I want to check out the one in Vegas-lol! I would love to know if the vegas one is Big or an outlet store

We just got Ross in STL not that long ago and I've become a Ross junkie!! I got a pair of Brooks running shoes that retail for about $125 for $25 last week. I've also gotten a lot of cute Calvin Klein dresses/pants; Michael Kors tops and Nine West pants & shoes for a fraction of the price.

My DH has gotten Dockers pants/shorts, New Balance flip-flops, Saucony running shoes and several dress shirts for very cheap prices.

We've also gotten a lot of home goods (shower curtains, bath mats, window panels, dog beds, etc.)

As you can tell I'm a fan!

I love Ross and I always find something to buy for cheap! My mom doesn't have the patience for it, it does take a lot of digging. I prefer to think of it as a treasure hunt.

It's hit or miss, but I have had some great luck with dresses there. I have one that I pull out and wear to weddings or receptions, and every time I wear it at least one person compliments me on the "beautiful" dress and asks where I got it. You should see the faces the times I decide to disclose that I paid $12 at Ross! :rotfl2:

For dd's 8th grade formal she found a cute strapless dress. I figured I could just add straps to it since we dont allow her to wear strapless clothes. Well It was super cute and when I looked at price tag I was shocked! It was only $12.99. We went shopping and several stores incase we changed our mind on the dress. She tried on dress from $30-$169. We happen to see the same dress we got at ross at Sears and the price tag was $70! She got lots of compliment.

I actually just got back from Ross. I returned a top I bought a month ago. I had bought 3 tops and didnt realize I was charged twice for one. I returned a different top and noticed the double charge. I figured there was nothing that could be done but i brought it up and the cashier called the manager and luckily she went ahead and gave me credit for it.

One negative thing about Ross is, if you return something thats over 30 days you automatically get a store credit even if you have your receipt, they wont even credited it back to your creditcard. The store credit is on a cheap lil paper cardstock type paper so its easy to forget if your wallet is messy. DD had a $20 store credit and left it in her pocket and it was washed in the wash and destroyed so $20 down the drain.

If you shop around Nov/Thanksgiving for xmas then you have more time for returns

I probably buy something about 1 out of 4 times that I go to Ross. That being said, when I do buy something, it's often a really good deal. I bought a black knit dress with 3/4 sleeves in July. It's just perfect for work events and I can dress it up or down. I've worn it twice and got compliments both times. It was $13.99!

The Ross stores around here are pretty junky. You can find things there, but you really have to dig for it. I think it's a tier (at least) below TJ Maxx.

It's like Target (TJ) and Walmart (Ross). At least for me.

The Ross stores around here used to be packed with inventory. I was almost always able to find something every time I went. Lately, the ones I've been to have been looking more and more sparse, with huge aisles, and only partially filled racks. It almost looks like they are going out of business.

I love Ross. It's my favorite place to shop as far as quality for the money. Sure, there's a lot of junk, but there are also fantastic prices on good quality items, including designer brands.

I find it hard to shop in other stores, though, because I can usually find what I want for a lot less at Ross.

A plus for me is that every Tues, you get 10% off everything if you're over 50 (which I am).

I can't shop at Ross.Their stores are always so messy & disorganized that I get nervous just walking into the store!

That is too bad. The one near me is always very organized. But like others have said, it is hit and miss with what they have.

Ross is off-price retail like Marshalls. Ross does carry a lot of "irregulars." It might be noticble such as crooked seams, etc. Sometimes it just the wrong thread color that manufacture didn't want but to us we don't even notice. Some stores are nice but most are a free for all. I know people who do or have been Managers and because their payroll was so low they can't keep up with the demands of customers. Not all of their clothing is gret quality. You get what you pay for.
