Anyone ever stay there ? I am lucky enough to get to tagalong at my hubby's conference there. How near is it to the parks? Is it pretty? Are there fun things to do with kidsthere?

It's beautiful - my daughter goes to UCF's Rosen College of Hospitality which is adjacent. It takes her about 15 minutes to get to work at Epcot - less time for DTD, longest for MK.

To get to Disney you get on the 528 for about one mile, maybe two and then catch I-4 West - the next exit is CrossRoads and the exits following are for the other park areas.

I stayed at the Rosen Shingle Creek last year for two nights. It's a huge convention style resort with a golf course out back and several pools. It's definitely a very nice resort and is about 5 minutes to the Sea World parks,10-15 to Universal and 15-20 minutes to Disney.Apparently last year there weren't many conventions or events at the hotel as I was able to get the Shingle Creek as well as the Rosen Centre on International Drive for $55-$60.At both hotels there was a little bit of that "Shining" empty hotel feeling especially walking from the car through the convention area hallways.I don't know if it had many things for kids but it didn't appear so,it seemed to be aimed more at conventioneers with the golf course and the spa,but you're still in a great convenient location to all the parks.

Stayed there a week and loved it !!! as you can see from my signature. The "food court" was no more expensive than a Disney resort but we didn't eat in any restaurants but chose to leave for other meals. We spent one entire day by the pools using one of the cabanas which were wifi. Our room was on top floor and lovely !

We even enjoyed exploring the convention area and met up with a manager who told us that the ballroom (which he showed us) was the largest room without interior support in the states. Was impressive and beautifully decorated.

We got it last year on travelzoo for a discount price and didn't like the price for parking and the "food court" was excessively priced for us. We didn't eat there at all and everyone knows if you gave a car you can go across the street and buy much cheaper stuff. It was beautiful though.

I stayed there for a night after booking through Hotwire. We didn't get to enjoy much there because we still were eating at Disney, and did not have time for the pool or anything. The rooms were spacious and very nice and I thought the bed was so comfy! For whatever reason, we didn't get charged for parking (maybe because we were through Hotwire? Idk). The walk from the parking lot to the hotel is a bummer, but if you're clever enough, there is a short cut at night if the ballroom area doors are locked.
