I know this resort opened saturday the 9th. Has anyone stayed, or has seen it. I have been waiting for so long to hear reviews. Anyone?? :confused3

I will be staying there this week on business. I will be home on the 16th. Ill report back then.

I too am also waiting, even though i had shoulder surgery a couple weeks ago i can not seem to make myself cancel my reservation!I'm not getting any sleep at home what difference would a hotel be!!!!! i keep telling my wife!Somebody please step up to the plate and tell all of us how great this hotel is!

Ecurto-Thanks!! That will be so much appreciated!! I leave the 18th.

Daddydon- I have been thinking about you. I was going to pm you just to see how you are feeling. Ok, so you had the surgery. So you got over that hurdle. I assume you are healing up, and resting as much as possible. If at all possible, maybe you can still go!! That would be the light at the end of the tunnel. Something to look forward to. Anyhow, I wish you a full, and more painless recovery!! :)

As for me, at my place of work. I am a chef, and all of the chef's are sick, and under the weather. My son, comes home today from school, and says mom Im sick. Now, my throat is feeling a bit raspy. But, I will not give into this. I will drink lots of tea, with lots of fresh lemon and try and stay far away from my coworkers. Until my last day which is the 16th :confused3

7 more winks for me. Then off to universal!! I will definately type a report, about the Rosen Shingle Creek. When I return the 28th.

Take care DaddyDon.
Thanks again Ecurto

Okay you 2 are not allowed to get sick!!!!!!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: I hope you both stay healthy for your big trip!I was wineing to my doctor friday that i did not think i was recovering as fast as i should and he put it to me this way"go cut off half your finger, and see how much it hurts, because that is how much of bone we took out of your shoulder"Okay doc i get your point :confused3 but i sure dont sleep very well....lol
Tell all your chef buddies to do a get well soup and leave you and your son alone...lol :thumbsup2 spray the house with lot's of lysol,it may not keep you from getting sick but it makes you feel like you did something     I have not given up on my idea of going but my wife is wanting to put the brakes on it saying i wont have any fun! Heck i am not having fun sitting at home! :guilty:

You two have a great trip!

Looking forward to our stay during the first week of November and to reading all the reviews from you guys. :thumbsup2

Everyone please look at http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser..._Shingle_Creek_Resort-Orlando_Florida.htmlAnd see what a reviewer wrote about this hotel. I am nervous, and a bit sick. Just reading about it.

Daddydon, I am not giving up hope. I have lysoled everything. I surely hope you feel tons better shortly. Ahh I just got an idea. I will get some cold eeze today. Zinc, usually keeps colds at bay, or it shortens thier duration!! Eureeka!!

:confused3 I wouldnot worry to much as it is the first post and they didnot get a freebie that they thought they were going to get.I being a former district manager know all about new openings,Yes stuff hapens and yes some drop the ball but i can not imagine everyone in the hotel dropping the ball on opening day!You are a chef ,you know as well as i do what it is to deal with guest and tripadvisor being a open forum they can and will post whatever they wish.My guess from there sig on ta being someone whom did not make it thru the first staff shakedown. :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:
Zinc is a good idea But a millions moms cant be wrong with chicken noodle soup! :teeth:

DaddyDon, you are right!! How am I going to let one sour review get me down about this hotel. I am not. Thanks for the encouraging outlook, and to think. I am usually the one, who looks on the brightside of everything. I dont know what got into me. Well, now I am over it, and even if all things are not smooth there. I will make the best out of it all!! I thought you were leaving months after me. You are going to be there, just shortly after me. How cool!! :thumbsup2 So, we both will get to see exactly how wonderful the Rosen Shingle creek is finally!! :thumbsup2 Have a super day!! :thumbsup2

We are currently at RSC. We are checking out early tomorrow. This place is a nightmare! It is visually beautiful, but that's about it. Nothing works. Not the Internet, the phones, or wake calls. Maid service is thee WORST of anyplace I have ever been. Constantly trying to come into the room when the DND sign is on the door at 7am (3 days in a row). Then when they do make it in the rooms are not cleaned, the bed gets half done... Construction people everywhere. The first two rooms we were sent to were unfinished. The room we ended up in had not bath tub, just a shower. NOTHING rings up at the stores/markets (meaning the bar codes aren't in the system) All the ice machines, and vending machines on the floors are empty.... although you wont know until you put money in. I could go on and on. It was just chaos. I can see this place being amazing in a few months when everything is up and running. But they were not ready to open, and even the staff is freely admitting it. I guarantee that's why your tour was cancelled. This place is an embarrassment.

ETA: Oh yea and all the restaurants aren't open. Although the staff will say they are, send you on a trek to the other side of the hotel, only to find, its still under construction. Try JW Marriott, you wont be disappointed. They had 139.00 a night room for this same time period... but i wanted to try some place new. JW is by far thee best Orlando hotel Ive ever stayed at.

I will end on a happy note. The bath amenities were amazing. White cedar and lime... very christmasy. I love it.

Oh dear, what a fiasco. I wonder why they opened when they're clearly not ready? You'd think it would be less damaging to thier reputation to open late than to risk what could be really dreadful press.

Sorry to hear you've had such a bad experience. Hope things have improved by the time we get there! :teeth:

I was told by the lady walking me to my 3rd room... (b/c the first two were unihabitable... and they figured this time they should go with me)

That they were not supposed to open until January, then they changed it to October, but then the head guy (Rosen?) wanted it open on his birthday September 9th... so they did.

I keep wondering why there are no photos on the website, other than the management team congratulating themselves at the opening party and some library shots of rooms. Now I know!

Im now reading how the beds here are super comfortable. Its a Murphy bed... (in the wall) and its hard as a rock, and barley fits two even though it claims to be a queen. I am reading the reviews on trip advisor now, they seem dead on with my experience.

Take plenty of photos to support your compensation claim. :thumbsup2
