My DH ( I assume that is darling husband...I'm trying to get up to speed ;) ) wants to do dinner at the Rose & Crown and watch Illuminations from there (if we can get a patio table). He went there years ago and loved the atmosphere. We have two wee lads (6 and 8). The ratings for RC aren't too great. Any word from you all?

Thanks again for any help! :D

We just ate there last Monday evening and were lucky enough to get a patio table (incredible view). I am an extremely picky eater and I had to get something off of the children's menu. My husband had the prime rib and the couple we traveled with both had the chicken. Everyone really enjoyed the meals. It was quite good. Go... the view was spectacular!!!!

Thanks kdibattista :D Was it difficult to secur a patio table?

kdibattista,

Did you have a PS for Rose and Crown? If so, what time was it for?

DH and I made a PS for 8:00 for our November trip. I'm hoping we didn't make it for too late.

Thanks in advance!

Both times we ate at the R&C we had patio seats, but our reservations were for 7:20 and 7:40 and we arrived early (between 7 and 7:15) both times. By 7:30, the patio tables tend to be occupied. 8:00 might be a bit too late.

Thanks, Pete W.

Maybe I'll call back and try to change to an earlier PS. We originally had a 7:30 PS, but didn't think we could linger over a meal for quite that long.

I'm with you Mom of 5 (although I'm only Mom of 2 ;) ) We have a PS for 7:30 and are not looking forward to 2 hours at a table! Our boys are 6 and 8 and we are going to drag them through Animal Kingdom all day first ;)

Thanks for all the advice...

8PM is definitely too late to get a patio seat at R&C.
These seats are in demand!!
7:20 to 7:30 PM, is the best time to book PS.

It is a long time to wait for the 9PM show, but remember just because you have a 7:20 PS, doesn't mean you table will be ready at 7:20. Plus you can leisurely review the menu, order a drink, order a soup or appetiser. 9PM you will find yourself eating dessert and watching the show.

Its definitely something you should try at least once!

Thanks for the information about a PS time for a patio table. DH just called and changed our time to 7:30.

We've never seen Illuminations or eaten at R & C. I'm really hoping for a patio table...

Thanks for the info about arriving early. You guys on this board are great!!! My DH and I have ressies at 7:40, but since we have a babysitter that night lingering for awhile won't be so bad. Is 7:15ish safe to get a seat outside you think?

If there's no patio table available when you get there for your reservation, tell them you'll take a beeper & wait for one. It always works for me!;)
