I was wondering if anyone has had the Shepherd's Pie at Rose & Crown? I love Shepherd's Pie, only I have always had it with beef instead of lamb. I really want to get it during our Sept. trip, but I am not sure about the lamb. Just wondering if it is still really good? (and if I can get past the cute, baby sheep :confused3 ) TIA!!! -------------Autumn

I had the "lamb two ways" last month, which included the shepherd's pie. It was my favorite entree of the week, and the shepherd's pie was the better of the two ways.

MY DH has had it, but he preferred it with beef. He said it was tasty, but he said you definitely get the distinct taste of lamb. I had the chicken and it was great.

my DH loved it also.

Side story: DD loves lamb, and has since she was small. She used to claim that there were just a lot of 3 legged lambs with crutches out there in the fields.

Op,

I'm so glad you asked about this. I've been wanting to try the Sheppard's pie for a while. I keep going back and forth on which ADR to make. R&C or Raglan Road. I wonder which one is best? I think I'm leaning toward R&C because of the sticky toffee pudding. :goodvibes

I had the Shepherds Pie at Raglan Road and it was made with lamb and it was delicious. Definitely a step above the traditional recipe.

As an aside if you make it with beef does that not therefore make it a Cottage Pie?
