OK, never done this. I was planning on the rehitching at Garden Grill, but heard that is no longer. Looking for another option for our first night.
(This is for a tenth wedding anniversary trip and my PS window opens up in a couple weeks.)

Can I make a PS specifically for an outside table at Rose & Crown? If not, any suggestions on getting one? Can they note our request on the PS and that it is for an anniversary?

What would be the best time to make the PS for if we also want to watch IllumiNations from our table?

Is this not worth the hopes and hassles?
Thanks!

you cant specify in your PS that you want to be outside.

but when you check in, you can get on an outside table waiting list.

that being said. make your PS for 7:00 and state that you will wait for an ouside table.

you should be seated by 8:00 or 8:15.

I would re-ch the re-hitching. There seems to be some questions as to whether they still do or not do it.

Patio tables at R&C are a first come first served, even with a PS. they will not promise an outside table. They will make a note about your anniversary, and probably present you with a free dessert.

Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for. For years we wanted to sit on the patio and when we funally did it was December and it was freezing. I asked for extra napkins to keep my legs warm. You never saw 2 people eat dinner so fast.

Got Quattro:

We have a 7:30 ps and were going to request an outside table. Of course, we know it's the luck of the draw. Is this too late? Should we try to change to 7:00?

ILUVDXL, I never even thought about freezing! DUH! It will be early February. I think I need to sit back and rethink some plans before my PS window comes.

Thanks!

We're going in January and that's exactly what I was afraid of. Last time I ate at R & C, though, they let the inside diners go out on the porch to watch Illuminations. We stood by the building, but since everything is stepped down, it was an unobstructed view, so much better than any other spot I'd ever seen Illuminations from. Are diners still allowed/encouraged to do that-eat indoors but go outside to watch Illuminations?

Have you considered Bistro de Paris? I've actually read some comments about them allowing you to wait for a window table. Guests have reported being able to see Illuminations from here. There is absolutely nothing better than getting a great table at the Rose & Crown, but they have been getting much stricter about requests. There has not been a patio waiting list the past 2 times that we've gone. It's first come, first serve. One of our recent visits was in January and although they had the outside propane heaters going, it was still chilly. I'd take a look at Bistro de Paris for another option, at least you'd be warm and you'd get a view.

We went in February of this year and had a PS time of 7:30pm Illuminations was at 9:00 pm I think that night. It was not that chilly that night. However while we were checking an at the podium my friend says She's a newbee) "Do we want to sit inside or outside?" She had directed the question to me but the CM heard her and responded that we would be given the next avalible table for our party size. They no longer would allow you to wait for a table outside. I just replied "Oh OK I totally understand" She then went on to say that because it was a little chilly the curtains had been let down and the patio was heated however. If we were seated outside it shouldn't be cold and they would raise the curtains for the show and if we are seated inside we will be invited outside to view the show. I was very friendly and just agreed with what she said. No begging or groveling for a table outside (which i really did want:o ). I then asked where she would like us to wait. After what seemed FOREVER and other parties our size go before us it was our name that was finally called.

We were given the front corner table on the

patio!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

The evening was chilly, the heaters were great, the curtains were put up for the show and we had the best view. People from inside came out and also enjoyed the show. Our server was awsome and we chatted about our great table and our fabuolus luck. He hinted that it might have more than just luck. It is a huge pain in the a__ for everyone to want and EXPECT  a table outside. People get down right nasty at the podium. He led us to believe that maybe we were picked for this table because we were just very nice, friendly and polite. We had made NO request other than were would you like us to wait so we could hear our name called.

Oh how the pixie dust had fallen on us that night. It was just down right "magical"

So even if we get an inside table we can still get up from our table and go outside to watch on the patio? Correct? Is there an area that they have people stand?

So maybe I'll make the PS, have them note our anniversary and see what luck brings us. Mention it at the podium, but be very cool about it. It appears even if we don't get a "magic" table we still can watch IllumiNations.

And by curtains do you mean like an outside tent? So even if it is cold and we get an outside table we should be fine?

Thanks so much!
