My family wants to view the fireworks at the Rose & Crown Pub. What time should I request for PS seating? How do I go about making sure that we have good seats for the show? Any suggestions would be great. We are going 4-10 Oct.

I don't think you can "make sure" you get good viewing seats for Illuminations, but the show starts at 9 every night, so some time around 7 or 7:30, take your time eating and get a dessert. You can request a seat outside and hope, but that's about all you can do.
Good luck!

:p Last Sept. DW and I made a PS for 7:45PM and requested a patio seat. The day of our PS we stopped by the kiosk out front of R&C around 4:00 and made the request again. We told the girl at the kiosk it was our anniversary (it really was). That night when we went back for our PS we had a seat on the patio and it was well worth it.

Good Luck :p

I had a bad experience trying to do this on my most recent visit. We made a PS for 7:50pm, and stopped by that afternoon to request an outdoor table. I was told that they can't guarantee outdoor tables, but they would try (which I knew already). We arrive back at the Rose & Crown at 7:45 and tell them we've arrived. It wasn't until 8:40 that we were seated. Yep, we waited outside, loitering on benches, not able to stray far from the pub, for about an hour. And of course, we were seated inside. They do have a special outdoor viewing area set up for people to watch who are seated inside, but you had to stand to see much of anything.

The show was quite good, but I don't know if it was worth that hassle. The food was only average in my opinion, and the wait was awful. That's just one person's experience with it, however. If I could do it all over again, I'd make that PS for about 7:30, not any later.

BTUFTEE, I took your advice and changed my PS to 7:20. We're going to try it. I see that you stayed at SOG. I take it you did the Armed Forces Salute. You don't do anything special to get your tickets do you?
