Ok. So I have an ADR @ the Rose & Crown on 10/2 for dinner. The only night that Hoop is available, for my party size and dates, is 10/2. Also, can't get Category 2 or 3 for Hoop, so I would be paying for this OOP. I definitely want to dine @ Rose & Crown. I've been trying to get R&C for a different night, but with no luck. So here's where I need help.

1. Keep ADR @ Rose & Crown and skip Hoop.
2. Cancel ADR @ Rose & Crown and pay for Hoop OOP, then keep trying for an ADR or try a walk-up @ Rose & Crown.

Which would you choose & why? Would you pay for Hoop OOP?

Rose and Crown is a nice place to watch Illuminations if your dinner reservations are at 8 or later. The Hoop de Doo is a lot of fun. If you are on the DDP, can you not get Cat 1 at the 9:30 seating using the dining plan, although that would be to late for me to eat. If I could watch Illuminations while dining at the Rose and Crown, I would keep it. Otherwise I would go to the Hoop de doo. If you go to the Rose and Crown, make sure and try the Imperial Sampler

I understand your dilemna, both are very good.
Personally I would choose to pay OOP for Tier 1 seating at the Hoop Dee Doo. Actually that is what we are doing this trip :lmao:
We like the Rose & Crown too, but patio seating for Illuminations can not even be requested anymore. It is totally the luck of the draw. And the menu is not as good as it used to be IMO. I would just keep trying for the Rose & Crown,

Rose & Crown is nice but, for me, if it came down to one or the other, Hoop de doo would win out. If you really want to eat at R&C, keep trying back for other dates during your trip.

If that doesn't work, we have had some success getting seated there, and we have traveled during both free dining and food & wine. Try going at more of an off time (3:30 - 4:00 pm), expect a little bit of a wait, and be flexible about where you will be seated.

One great thing here, if they will let you wait for a table, they give you a buzzer and you can wander the entire area of the UK pavillion during that time. There is usually lots of entertainment going on here and if not, the stores here are still great to browse through.

I would choose HDDR.

R&C is nice, it's okay, but it's really nothing special. Even when you could request patio seating for Illuminations it wasn't guaranteed. But now you can't even request it. If you could be guaranteed Illuminations viewing then maybe that would bump R&C up closer to HDDR on my list. I still think HDDR would top it, for me. You can view Illuminations easily enough any night. ;)

The ADR @ the Rose & Crown is at 4:55pm.

I can't speak for Rose and Crown because I have never dined there, but we have done the Hoop Dee Doo many times and love it. The food is great and the show is great too! If you have never done...it is a must at least one, in my opinion. We have always had Category 1 seating, right up front by the stage. It is truly a great show for all ages. Good luck with whatever you decide...and if you do the Hoop....hope you enjoy it as much as we have!:goodvibes

I would do HHDR. We had so much fun there- Its slapstick corney comedy but it had me laughing!

Plus their sangria is unlimited:banana:

oh and ps- I cant eat fried foods- so I literally go there for the show and salad!

I have ADR's for both in October, but on different days. We have already been to both so I think you should stay with the Hoop espically since you are not going to be there at illumination time. We usually try for ADR's at R & C for 7:30 -8 so we will be there around dessert time for Illuminations.
