We're going to be in WDW the same time as my husbands cousin. This young man will be on his honeymoon and we want to treat them to dinner. They said they would love to eat at Rose & Crown and see Illuminations from there. What time would be best to try and get a reservation for? I know nothing is guaranteed but said I would try.

Thanks!

Trying to figure this out is almost like trying to pick the winning lottery number. This will sound crazy, but it really does depend on what kind of people are eating there that particular night. There aren't alot of perfect view patio tables and we've been there on some nights to see them all full before 7pm. Other times, a great table has opened up after 8pm.

You can't request a patio table when booking your PS and depending on how busy it is, they don't even allow you to wait for something to become available. You could try stopping by there during the afternoon and mentioning the special ocassion. It doesn't always work, but making note of it at a less busy time, might increase your chances.

If you're all adults and you don't mind nesting, I would try for a PS at 6:30ish. If you get lucky, just inform your waiter that you will be staying through Illuminations and tip accordingly. Take your time, enjoy the atmosphere (and the beer). The view is well worth the wait. If luck or weather is not on your side, you can still eat dinner in the restaurant and ask to be shown to the viewing area when it's time for Illuminations. It's standing room only, but still a nice view.

Make a PS for 90 minutes before Illuminations. Check in at approximately 15-20 minutes before your PS time. Be real nice and ask if they could place your party at an outside seat. Most times they will do their best, especially if you aren't too demanding. Good luck! :)

Mary - DH, DS, MIL & I had a patio table at Rose & Crown and stayed to see Illuminations back in Oct 01. I did stop by during the day to request patio and told them we were celebrating MILs birthday. I believe our PS was for 730pm

My son and I had dinner there last Thursday. Our PS seating was for 7:00, but I didn't check in until about 7:15-7:30. When I requested a patio table, I was told that they would try but could not promise anything.

The manager came and pulled all the cards that had patio written on them. He worked hard finding us outside tables. We weren't seated until 8:15, but that didn't bother us.

Our table was in the back on the far right hand side. We weren't able to see the show that good, but we still had a great time.

If we ever eat there again, I'd be sure to check in on time, and request a table on the lower part of the patio.

Thanks for all your advice everyone. I'm going to call today and change our PS's for the evening. This is a really special couple as the groom was our ring bearer when we got married 15 years ago!
