Just made an ADR for Rose & Crown for our party of six with the intention of viewing Illuminations that evening (6/8) from the restaurant. Unfortunately, the latest time we could reserve was 7:35. Can anybody help me with the following...

* I understand we're unable to request an outside table at this time, but any tips on securing an Illuminations view table ahead of time (call in the AM of the ressie, stop by early in the day, etc)?

* Assuming we get a table with a view, will we be able to 'linger' through the show or would you think they'll rush us out the door for later reservations?

* Are there any other Table Service restaurants with Illuminations views in the World Showcase?

* Any other related tips/suggestions?

Thanks for the information.

They probably won't allow you to try and reserve a patio table at any point. But if you're sitting inside, the word is that they will let you go outside to a viewing area to watch the show.

Of table service restaurants, only Chefs de France, Bistro de Paris and Tokyo Dining may have limited views of Illuminations. Cantina de San Angel (counter service) is waterside and has good views but tables are taken up way ahead of the show from what I understand.

We had a 7:50 ADR for the Rose & Crown this past August. We were seated outside but in a table up near the building. We had already decided that we would order appetizers and kind of linger over our meal so that we could view Illuminations. Our waitress told us to take our time when we asked if this was okay. When we asked if we would be able to see Illuminations from our table, she said just the stuff right on the lake. But, they had an area just to the side of the restaurant that would be roped off for the Rose & Crown guests. We ate our meal and, about 15 minutes before Illuminations was to begin, we were shown into the roped off area. We were right up front and were able to see everything!

We usually try for 7:30 to 7:40 ADR's for Rose and Crown so we will be there for Illuminations and that will be about dessert time. We were there twice and did request a patio seat, but it is the luck of the draw, the first time we were on the lower patio (I think we lucked out because it rained just before we got there and this is an uncovered area and they just reopened it after the rain)this was the best view we ever had of Illuminations, second time we did request but got placed inside but at dessert time the waitress takes you out to an area reserved for Rose and Crown to view Illuminations, then you come back inside to finish dessert. We were never rushed and the wait staff at R & C seems to be the nicest in all of the MK.

Thanks Beroh and Mickeystoontown! That was exactly the information I needed. It sounds to me like 7:35 will work fine and that having the view isn't as big a deal as I thought since they have the roped off area.

Thanks again!

Don't get too hung up on seeing the show from R&C. There are many, many great spots around the lagoon from which to watch Illuminations (basically, any spot where your view is not actively blocked by a tree or a structure is as good as any other spot). So, if it doesn't work out at R&C, just head outside, find another spot with an unobstructed view and you will be fine.

Last Oct we had an adr for 7:30 and were seated on the lower patio with a fantastic view. We could even feel the heat from the fire displays! Impressed our friends and DH with this seating, DH always shakes his head when I'm on these boards so much, but as soon as I pull out things like this seating he is happy as a clam! ;)
