Rose & Crown anyone?

I would like to make a ressie for this restaurant and be able to catch Illuminations after dinner. Any suggestions what a good ressie time would be and has anyone dined here before?

Absolutely the best view of the fireworks that we have ever had...We got there for dinner ressies at 7:30 I believe. Got the perfect spot on the terrace and were eating desert while watching the show. I would probably shoot for 7:30 so that if they try to seat you inside you have the option of passing it on and waiting for an outside table.

Yes, great views! We also enjoyed our meal very much! I recommend the mushroom appetizer!

On my last trip (12/2004), Rose and Crown was our best meal. We had a 7:30 PS and our waitress helped us stretch it out to watch Illuminations. I think EVERYBODY asks to be seated on the patio. After about 8:00, nobody is getting out of their seats. As a side note, the mushroom appetizer, the pie sampler, and the dessert sampler were all great.

This is a really great experience when you get lucky. We've managed to land the coveted "table with a view of Illuminations" twice out of seven tries (I think), which is pretty good given the odds.

Even when you end up at a table inside or around the side of the building, you can still get up at 9PM and stand at the back of the terrace to watch the show.

We too have been lucky, we have been seated on the Terrace 3 out of 6 times. Most everyone does request an outside table in decent weather, so it is the "Luck of the Draw". We enjoy eating here, even if we eat inside. As Bicker said, they allow you to stand and view Illuminations, even if you are seated inside.
By the way, when we were there in October they no longer offered the Pie Sampler.

Last May we had a 7:20 PS, arrived at 7:10, requested an outdoor table, didn't get seated until 8:00 but got a table in the center of the bottom row near the water. The waitress asked us if we were staying for the fireworks, we said yes, so she served the meal slowly.

I love Rose & Crown! They have many wonderful food offerings and I am especially fond of the cheese/fruit appetizer plate. (goes great with a glass of wine!)

One of my favorites in EPCOT actually....

FRANCE= not impressed
ITALY= ok...but cheaper Italian food is off property!
GERMANY = Good...dinner and a show!
Mexico = Good..but better mexican food is off property!
Canada = was ok....not great
UK= I love Rose N Crown! Great service, great food.

China/Japan =haven't tried...heard good things.
Morroco= ditto

I have been to this restaurant twice. The first time was fantastic...we did it on New Year's Eve and got patio seating! The food was wonderful and the show amazing. We somehow got very lucky because we didn't even request a table outside. We told them we wanted to get done so we could see Illuminations and they said, "Don't worry, we will seat you outside and you can watch from your table!" I was so impressed with the food, service and show...I had to go back.

The second time was a real disappointment! Again, we did not request indoor or outdoor, and ended up inside...which was fine! The big problem was our server was slow, food cold and terrible, and they would not allow us to use the bathroom inside the restaurant. They said it was for people in the "bar area only"...which I found odd. I used it the previous visit. This was a little over a year ago. Anyone else experienced this?

I don't think I will give up on this restaurant just yet though. There have been so many great reviews and my first experience was wonderful. I think our server was in a bad mood and didn't really care about our enjoyment. I have a feeling our food was sitting and ready for a while before it was actually served.
