Wondering with a 7:50pm if we do happen to get an outside table, does it seem reasonable that we would be able to view Illuminations or is that too long of time period. I'm sort of thinking we shouldn't arrive too much before the ADR to avoid being seated early. Other thing I've heard is, if we're not at an outside table, do they still have a spot for others to go outside for the Illuminations viewing?

Yes, they have a fenced off section for guests that are inside to stand in to see the show...but you will want to watch the time, because it can fill up...we ended up at the back of the crowd when we went...but since we had already seen it two days earlier, it wasn't that big of an annoyance to us.

We had a 7:25 ressie time for R&C in May and weren't seated until around 7:40, and there were other parties waiting with us. Your time seems good, but keep in mind there might be a wait to be seated. We got a fantastic patio seat! Illuminations was at 9 that night, but delayed because of rain.

Based upon our experiences with Rose and Crown, that ADR time should be fine. You may or may not be seated outside. If you're lucky, you'll get a patio table with a clear view of Illuminations. If you're seated inside, you'll be escorted to the fenced section in time to view Illuminations. We don't like the designated section (visibility can be poor if the area is packed with people), and we have better luck finding viewing spots along the lagoon. In all of our experiences at R&C, the servers emphasized that we were welcome to linger at the table and wait for Illuminations.

I'm not sure if this is common, but when we went to R&C with reservations around 7:30 - we ended up waiting an extra 30 mins to be seated. The longest, by far, we waited for any TS. It was completely worth it, we were seated outside and my 5-year-old DD got to "Start" Illuminations with Mickey's Magic Wand. The food and the server (although sadly I don't think it was Janet) were amazing!

Thank you, I was Googling R&C Janet and wasn't having any luck. :thumbsup2

My family and I did exactly what you're asking about in October 2014: a 7:50p ADR at RaC with 9:30p Illuminations. We requested outdoor seating with a view when we checked in, so we had a ~20 minute wait (we were actually prepared for longer; my son had to run and grab his mother and sister from a nearby shop) and were comfortably seated by 8:15p. Drinks and appetizers first; we took our time, and I recommend the Scotch Egg highly. Dinner was delightful; we did not rush. Dessert. Oh, and coffee. Before we knew it: Illuminations!

Worked like a charm. Enjoy!
