If We can we are thinking of booking the rose and crown for something to eat near the time when illuminations is on.

A- is this a good idea?
B-Where's the best place to sit to eat and see whats going on.
C-Whats the food like?.

Jules

Hi Jules

The R&C is an excellent choice for a spot for watching Illuminations, and you really want to be sitting out on the Patio.

We have eaten here once before and enjoyed what we had but that was a few years ago now. I dont recall hearing any bad reports about it though. :)

The R&C is good if all you're after is a spot to watch Illuminations. Make your ressie for 7:30 and tell the waitress when you check in that you really, really, really want to sit outside and will wait for that privilege. Other than that, I found the food just so so. There are so many other really great restaurants at Epcot.

we really enjoyed our meal at the Rose and Crown - it's proper English pub grub.

The fish and chips is Harry Ramsden's, and the genuine article!
My dh had bangers and mash which looked delicious, proper English Sausages - Yum Yum. Katie had cottage pie, and she really enjoyed that, too.

What we liked was that it was familiar food - we ate there near the end of our trip, and we were just ready for some 'comfort' food - all things that we were familiar with. Although American food isnt' totally different to what we eat at home, it is somewhat different, and my dd was finding it very hard to eat. She's not a big fan of chicken strips, burgers or mac & cheese which are the main kids meal offerings - anyway, she loved her cottage pie.

As for the view - it was just superb. Worth the price of the meal for that alone. I booked the table exactly 180 days out, and mentioned that I wanted to sit on the patio. Then on the day, we stopped by the podium in the afternoon and mentioned it again, and when we went for our table, they asked us if we minded waiting for the patio, so we waited about 10 minutes and then had the perfect table, right on the water's edge. The CM's in there were excellent too -really helpful and friendly. All in all it was a very special evening.

Jules, they select a child from The Rose and Crown to set off the rocket that starts Reflections. I hope Josh gets to be chosen if you go , it would be great wouldn't it?

If PS booking time is 180 days, is it likely to be booked out by now.
We will be in Epcot December 8th

I would still phone - You will probably still get a table, but possibly not right at 7:30. I think it's actually 120 days out - I got a little over excited in my other post!

Bev

Alexandra - You might be in luck. I booked only a few weeks before and got the time I wanted. This was over a very busy time. Unfortunately I had to cancel my PS due to Stevie being sick. I'll definitely do it next time. Good luck
