Hi, all, and happy Monday!

So, we have been to WDW a kazillion times and tend to do CS for all meals - it is just DH and I, and even when we make reservations, we tend to get sidetracked and miss them. However, we have an upcoming quick trip in June with another couple who have - gasp - never been to WDW!! We are trying to give them the quick tour, and my husband even mentioned that he has never seen Illuminations from beginning to end. I made reservations at the Rose and Crown for 8 pm, and I figure if we show up at 7:40 or so, we'll at least be seated so that we can use their viewing area (DH is English, so he may even be able to finagle us a table on the patio - hey, 4 adults? All drinking pints and lots of 'em?? Plus discussion of brown sauce and "real" chocolate? The CM's might be kind.)

I guess my concern is...how bad IS the food there??? Seems like at least a few people think it's OK...If it's awful, any other suggestions about viewing??

Thanks!!

I have only been there once and it was back around 2000/2001 but I remember being pleasantly surprised and liking the food. I think I had bangers and mash and I also really liked the atmosphere. Sorry I can't remember more! Good luck to you in whatever you decide to do!

I really like the food at the Rose and Crown. We always eat there each trip. I of course like the fish and chips with mushy peas. Some of us order the bangers and mash too...My husband enjoys the small beer samplers it is fun. The fish and chips are really good the cod is very clean and fresh tasting...We almost always sit outside....my neice had a special moment where they let her "start" the illumination fireworks she loved it!

Enjoy!

We too were pleasantly surprised by our meal there this past January. In my quest to eat at all Disney restaurants I had booked this one for my family and I and I can't say anyone was really excited to eat there but it was not nearly as bad as we thought it would be. I had the potato & leek soup and fish/chips and it wasn't bad. DH had some sort of pot roast type dish that he loved but I don't see that on the menu on allears. My Mom had the cheese plate and a salad and we all enjoyed the meal. Give it a shot!

Thanks guys - seems encouraging. I do like the fish and chips outside...

SM, we've never stayed at POFQ, I assume this query was directed towards luna 99?
