Rose and Crown

I had an ADR for San Angel for 10/12 but cancelled due to reviews and the fact I was never all that into eating there anyway. We will be at Epcot that night and so really all that was left was rose and crown @ 4.30. I took it, but have n't seen much on here about it. My sister will love the fish and chips I already know, but I don't like seafood, can anyone recommend any dishes? How is the atmosphere? I loved London the one time I got to visit, so I'm actually looking forward to it. I just was looking for food advise from all you wise souls who have eaten there.

I have eaten at R&C three times, most recently this past January. My family loves this restaurant! I think the atmosphere is great and we have always had wonderful service. The fish and chips, served with peas, is a favorite. The pieces of fish are large and the batter is light. It is perfect with a bit of malt vinegar. Your sister should be happy with it. I also love the cheese plate for an appetizer, but know they tinker with the cheese varieties. On our last trip, they served the most fabulous sage cheese. Yum. The potato leek soup is also very good. They do serve a fish/steak combo, so maybe you could get it without the fish.

I like the Fish & Chips, too, but also like the Bangers & Mash and the Cottage Pie. I just looked at the menus, though, and see the Cottage Pie only on the lunch menu. I thought I read, however, that they will serve it for dinner, if you ask...

We were there 2 weeks ago and I enjoyed the bangers and mash. It wasn't anything special, but it was decent. The cheese plate and the stewed mushrooms were very good!

My granddaughter (11) and I were there in June. we shared the cheese plate, tea-time chicken, and salad with Stritton cheese dressing. I t was GREAT, enough (with leftovers) for 2 and we would go there again.

R&C was one of our least favorite meals during our June trip. We used to enjoy it, but it's gone downhill. The menu has become lackluster. The fish and chips was served in a basket, no peas. The chips were soggy and the fish was tough. The bangers and mash my dh had were a smaller portion than pictured above. He said they were only o.k. tasting. The service was not great. The soup came after the entrees and only after reminding our waitress that it had been ordered. The beer was the best thing about the place.

Rose and Crown is one of our favorites........we go every time we visit WDW. For us, it is not a complete trip to Epcot without a meal at Rose and Crown. The images posted above were from our visit last November. Things may have changed, but I can't imagine the changes would cause us to forsake one of our favorite dining venues.

On our last visit, the Cottage Pie was my favorite meal of the entire trip.

Oh, and I am big fan of the Sticky Toffee Pudding too.

I their mushroom appetizer. The picture posted (which were great, by the way) shows a much smaller portion than I remember. Wah.

I love the Bangers & Mash and my husband really enjoys the fish & steak. And, don't forget the Warm Apple Crumble; it is wonderful!!!

I the pics!!! Thanks so much. I made ADR for lunch in Feb and am looking forward to it so much. Even more now that I see the pics. Especially the cheese plate (even though I know it can change).

We eat at R&C on every trip. We will be eatting there again in December.
