Rose and Crown @ UK outdoor seating

Can you see Illuminations from the Rose and Crown restaurant at United Kingdom? How is the view?

We are thinking about choosing the Rose and Crown for our Dinner package for the Candlelight Processional. We want to see the show first then have dinner and stay for Illuminations at the Rose and Crown if the view is good? Is this possible, can you request when making reservations to be sitting outside? Has anyone done this before?

Also, how is the food?

I would say it is a comfortable view. You are sitting (not standing for a long amount of time) which is nice, but there definitely are better places to view Illuminations. Also, remember that outdoor seating is not a guaranteed thing. You may get it, you may not.

Food was good, but nothing to rave about. (But then the last time I ate there was in 2001 so that may have changed)

We requested outdoor seating to view Illuminations and arrived well in advance of our PS. We told the hostess that we really wanted to sit outside and would wait if necessary. When we were finally buzzed, they took us inside where there was no way we would see anything. We decided not to stay.

As the winds blew all the smoke from Illuminations right to the Rose and Crown, in retrospect we were much better off viewing Illuminations from Japan.

Rose and Crown will not guarantee outdoor seating. It's the luck of the draw.
