I made a late adr for this to hopefully catch Illuminations, but I've heard the food at Rose and Crown is not very good.

We really enjoyed the food at Rose & Crown. Every restaurant is going to have some bad reviews, I've eaten at some that had rave reviews and didn't think that they were all that great. Go to Rose & Crown! Enjoy yourself! Viewing Illuminations from there is fabulous.

I liked the food. I had the steak and fish, it was yummy.

I have eaten at Rose & Crown a number of times and have never had a bad meal there. I am in the beginning stages of planning and Oct trip, and Rose & Crown is on my list for an ADR.

We were just there in February and LOVED it! The kids and I had the fish and chips and my husband had the bangers and mash. We had the cheese platter as an appetizer also. All the food was delicious. It is very loud inside though. We did not get an outside table and it was cold that night anyway. Try it!

It's always our "start" to vacation. DH says he's not on vacation until he's had a beer so he gets his beer and we have a nice lunch. Even our kids love it there.

We had lunch at R&C this past Christmas Day and LOVED it! (Pics are in my review below).

If I dont buy the meal plan, I will eat here as the food is good and is not expensive. Bangars and mash and the imperial sampler. Perfect night out.

I have not eaten here in a couple of years, but always found the good and service excellent.

We have always had good food and service at Rose and Crown, if the menu appeals to you then go for it. We visit this resturant just about every trip.

OK, the pics of the food looked very good but even more delicious is that green drink. :lmao: Is it alcoholic? I'll be having myself one of those.

It has been ten years but I loved the food- it was simple fare not anything really fance and is actually very reasonable in disney dollars :rotfl2: I even found some recipes in the Disney Recipe book and make them still because we enjoyed that meal so much. Just thinking about it makes me want Chicken and Leek pie. We will probably miss it this time just because we are doing the Deluxe dining plan and want to try some more expensive places we missed last time, plus lots of kid friendly meals and with 3 kids in tow we can not eat all of meals in Epcot :thumbsup2

We have done Rose & Crown a number of times -- at least six. We have never had a bad meal in any of those visits. My only complaint was that the fish on the last trip seemed a little greasier than normal. However, since we've never had a bad meal there, I guess it was just an off day on the fish -- and it didn't make it "bad"...just a little too greasy that one and only time.

R&C seemed like a typical Irish pub restaurant with typical fare that was quite good for what it was. We had the cheese plate which was really nice and the soup, which was also good, to start. DH had the burger and I had the Fish and Chips. The portions were quite large and everything was very tasty my only issue was that the fish seemed greasier than I am used to. Our server was also really great. While I wouldn't look to this restaurant to blow me away as that type of food usually doesn't it was all very good and we had a ton of fun.

English/Irish/Scottish fare is going to be hit or miss with people (as will German food) just because its rare for people to eat this type of food normally.

Both DH and I love it (as we do german food) but it can be an acquired taste.

You will generally see foods that you won't see in many american restaurants (leeks, lamb, different types of sausages etc) and that can really throw people off as they aren't expecting the taste.

I was very sad that they no longer have the chicken leek pie (its awesome and I make it at home all the time) nor do they have Welsh Rarebit. The potato leek soup is awesome though and I will allow that Beirgarten has it instead of Vichyssoise (which is essential cold potato soup)

DH & I go there every trip.:thumbsup2:I enjoy the fish & chips and he usually get the chicken pie or shepards pie. The food we had in November was very good.
I like that they carry Tennants(sic?) Lager:drinking1 which isn't found in the pubs around were I live

DH and I have eaten at R&C each of the last three trips. We haven't had a bad meal yet. DH loved the lamb, unfortunately that isn't on the menu anymore.

My hubby grew up in England, and while he says that the decor is only somewhat similar to the pubs there, he (and I) really enjoy eating at Rose & Crown. He always orders the bangers & mash, but substitutes "chips" (thick cut fries) with gravy for the mash. On our last trip a few weeks ago I had the fish & chips, which was really good! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!:goodvibes

Fish n' Chips is one of DH's fave, so he's looking forward to it, plus it's always nice to try new things. In the many many times we've visited Disney, we've never eaten here.
