I booked a CP package at the Rose & Crown and was looking at the menus on allears and the link here through the DIS. They have different menus listed! :confused3

One lists the Tea Time Chicken that sounds incredible and the other does not. Does anyone know if they provide that meal? Which menu is more accurate?

Thanks.

I am sorry I truly do not know this answer. I have sent an email off to the content people, but since Deb's site has that menu dated May 2008 as the update date, and we have no date, I would go with the one that was dated.

If I find another answer, I will let you know.. Maybe someone who has eaten there last week can tell you if the tea time chicken is still available..

Allears puts a date on most of their menus so you know if it's updated or not.....since Allears is showing May 2008 for Rose & Crown, I'd venture to guess that it is the more accurate.

I really wish that WDWinfo would include dates not only for their menus but for their reviews. A bad review from a couple years ago doesn't necessarily mean it's still a bad place.

Seems you and I had the same idea Connie... since their's is dated, go with the dated one. It does not mean ours is not updated correctly...it just means it is not dated. We do have a content team that continually checks the restaurants for updates.....and since our site is so big, managing the discussion boards is a full time job in itself, I hope you understand that we cannot do it all. We try, but alas we cannot. I have sent an email off to the content team with the request that we date our updates....

Well, it does appear that they are starting to date things at least.....if you look up The Wave which is one of the newest restaurants, it does say updated 6/08. I guess it would be a monumental task for one or two people to update each restaurant. Maybe they could request that DISers take photos of the menus and then it would be simply a data input matter not a visiting matter. Of course, you'd want to be sure that DISers send in CURRENT menus not one's they took on their last trip. Just another idea. I'll be there this fall and would be happy to do that for the places we visit. I tend to do it for myself anyway, not at all of them, but many.

We were at the Rose & Crown in mid June, and I do not remember the Tea Time Chicken (not that my memory is a steel trap...).

It seemed to me that they had sharply reduced their offerings since the last time I was there. However, I found that the quality of the food was much improved, likely because they could focus more attention on the meals they did now offer.

Thanks for all the quick replies! Having been raised in a house that had fairly regular meals (no fault of my parents, I'm sure it was hard to cook for 12 people plus on a daily basis!) I'm always nervous of trying new things. I'm sure I will find something that I'll love though!

Thanks again everyone!

We were also there in June and DD had chicken but don't remember if it was called Tea Time Chicken.

I can't answer the question but I wanted to say that when we were at Rose & Crown in May DH had lamb. He LOVED it and wanted to go back for it again. We have eaten there 3 times and have never had any complaints about the food.

There's no Tea Time Chicken on the menu anymore, its now the Marinated Chicken Breast which is marinated in oil salt and pepper and comes on top of a small spinach salad and a savory bread pudding. Its actually really good. Comes with onion broth and some onion jam on top. :)

Thanks. I might try that.

Menus tend to change seasonly, so aside from some signature dishes that are always on (Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash), things yend to change. Suggest that you check the menu periodically for any changes that might interest you.

That sounds very good.

Also, if you aren't sure you'll like a component of the meal - the onion jam for me in this scenario - you can always ask for it on the side or left off completely.
