Rose and crown or harry ramsden's fish and chips

Hello:

We usually eat fish and chips in the Rose and Crown, but when looking at the Yorkshire County Fish and Chips shop the price is way cheaper

"Fish and Chips - Snack Size: 2 strips of fish served with chips - $7.99 "
Versus around 15.00 inside rose and crown. Does anyone know if the size of the meals are the same?

The Fish and Chips from the Fish Hut are quite a smaller portion than inside the restaurant, i can't remember the exact sizes though unfortunately, though both are good and the same batter is used for both.

The fast food place in England's fish and chips is much, much better than the ones at Rose and Crown. I would prefer it anyday. Also, the serving size is about the same, maybe even a little more fish at the fast food place, but I don't think you get as many chips as you do at Rose and Crown.

Taste alone though, Harry Ramsden's has Rose and Crown beat by a mile!!!

Harry Ramsden batter is used on both the Fish Hut and in the Restaurant and is exactly the same, the fish is also bigger inside the restaurant and you do receive more chips. The fish is fried in exactly the same way also so they both taste very similar. It is just the size that differs.

I worked at both the fish and chip shop, and the Rose and Crown, and I can tell you that both meals are the same, but the portion size is WAY different.

If you eat it in the restaurant, you are getting a much bigger portion than the quick service, which is why it is more expensive. But both fish and chips are the same.


In fact, the size of the fish at the quick service, is actually the same size as a kid size fish IN the restaurant.

Hi Disney cm:

We always love the Rose and Crown restaurant. It is very quaint, and our most memorable meal was outside on the patio chatting to a waitress I believe she was from Wales.

Can a seat on the patio be requested. This trip is a celebration for hubby as he is retiring after 34 years.

If there are tables outside open you can request to change but it depends how busy it is and what time it is, how many waiting to come in etc. In the evenings it is just luck really on who is leaving when your tables turn to be sat comes up, sometimes you can put a preference but again its not guaranteed in the evenings where you will be.

They actually don't come in newspaper in the QS anymore, just on Harry Ramsden paper, though they do come on newspaper in the restaurant.
