I have never been to Rose and Crown but have heard good things about it. I am on the Deluxe Dining Plan so I am looking for places with good apps. Is this a good place to try?

Never tried their appetizers, but we like their food. We are booked there for a late lunch in August.

I really enjoyed the food here and have had mostly good service. They also have a great little patio to view Illuminations from if you time your meal just right. Only downside to this restaurant for me is that much of the seating is outdoors. Good for a nice day, but not so much for a hot and humid one. You can wait for an indoor table if not assigned one, but it can take time.

Definitely! My family's favorite! We reserve a table an hour before Illuminations and they take you to their private viewing area.

DH and I both enjoy the food at R&C, but we actually find it on the more affordable side for a Disney TS restaurant, so it isn't going to be the best to get your money's worth on the dining plan (per your other thread).

We really enjoyed the food at Rose and Crown. It was perfect for our family and had good options for our kids.

I've eaten there twice and really enjoyed it both times. In our experience, we've had good food and service.

We didn't love it when we ate there but would give it another chance, so if the food looks good to you then sure. If you are thinking about places with good appetizers then I'd consider Mama Melrose, Chefs de France, The Wave and (potentially) Captain's Grille.

We've always had good food and good service at Rose and Crown. It's on our list of favorites for sure. Plus they have so many good beers on tap!

The Fish and Chips, potato leek soup, and the Stilton cheese are all amazing (actually, if you don't like Bleu cheeses, avoid the Stilton). The bangers and mash are really good. The chicken masala, no, and I really like curry, so this was disappointing.

But mix anything with some mushy peas and a Half and Half or a Blacksmith, and I'm as happy as can be!

They have a fantastic Scotch Egg for an appetizer and good soup. I haven't had the other options. There is a salad my mom likes but I am not sure what it is. The rest of the meal is also great. I highly recommend Rose & Crown. And don't forget to say Hi to Carl in the pub!

We really enjoyed it. Our service was quite slow but the atmosphere and food were great. we were seated outside, which we prefer inside, but actually thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The only reason we aren't doing it this time is that we want to try things that are new. we are braving Coral Reef. Also, after a full day of travelling and it being unpredictable weather Dec 30th, we wanted to ensure we would be eating inside. lol Give it a try, wonderful. My brother raved about the fish and steak that he had.

I haven't tried the Scotch egg myself, but my baby great niece did, and she loved it. Cute photos of that. :)

This year, it is on the menu for the Scotland kiosk at the Food & Wine Festival. I am def going to order it there. My niece (baby's mom) says the mustard sauce that accompanies it is terrific.

Have they released the menus for the festival this year already? I will be there during it and was waiting to see if they get released.

We eat there for Illuminations. ADR target is 1.5 hrs before Illuminations (they stop seating 1 hour before the show). We also order appetizers here. Scotch egg is AMAZING.

We really like R&C and try to go each visit. PErsonally, I like a late lunch to break up the day.

We always enjoy dinner at Rose and Crown. It's one of our favorites. I recommend the English Rose cocktail. It's pretty and sweet and you don't realize how much of it is gin until you try to stand up and realize you can't feel your feet anymore.

It was far and away our favorite meal last trip.

For apps we ordered a scotch egg, cheese platter and English pasty, all very good. The entrees (fish and chips and New York strip) were just ok but service and view of Illuminations were absolutely outstanding. Also beer. A few beers.

So for a 9:30 show I want to try for a 7:30 reservation or later. It says the close at 8 so trying to see what time would work. Right now the closest to that I could get is 7:10. Do you have to be seating in a certain place in order to enjoy it or can you move to a spot after dinner?

Isnt Illuminations always at 9? I could be wrong. Either way 7:10 will work. We had a 7:15. Ask for a table with firework view at check in. If one is not available there is a dedicated viewing area and you can leave the table to watch.
