Rose and Crown - have to eat?

Wondering if you can go to Rose and Crown and just get a Pint? Or do you have to eat? Is there a 'pub' section apart from the dining room? We have only ever eaten there, but I am thinking it might be nice just to go for a drink. Thanks!

I have bellyed up to the bar for many a pint on my visits to the R&C. It gets a little crowded in that area, but so long as you are determined, you can get served.

You can order pints and some food items in the bar area. They also serve beer at an outside area.

There is a very nice bar area right off the "street" at the Rose and Crown. Sometimes they have entertainment inside. Enjoy your pint.

1) The bar is in the front, and the restaurant is in back and outside.
2) The bar
. . . can "stand" about 8-10 at the bar
. . . can "stand" about 6 at two tall tables
. . . can "seat" about 8-12 at four tables (4-tops and 6-tops)
3) The tables fill quickly and are hard to get.
4) When one empties, folks standing dive for the table.

NOTE: Sometimes, during non-busy times, you can take your drink outside and sit and sip. However, this doesn't happen during prime meal times or anytime close to fireworks time.

We have spent many a glorious hour sitting in the pub at R&C.

Just so you know, it's a "full bar" in addition to serving Guinness and other delights...

You are under no obligation to eat, but after "a few" some of the food served there (you can eat right where you sit) sounds pretty darned good.

Thanks! And this seems a really silly question but here goes - the kiddos can also hang with us in the bar right? At 'normal' bars where we are kids are not allowed....but I am assuming as it is Disney the kids are also welcomed? Although, if we cant get a seat I am guessing they are not going to want to stand around for long!! We may be sipping and strolling....

They can sit at the bar tables, but not stand at the actual bar.
