Rose and Crown and Illuminations

I just booked Rose and Crown for dinner at 7:20 and hope to be able to get an outside table to view Illuminations. It will be me, DH, DS, DDIL and DGS in late May. How easy is it to get an outside table? any stratergies? We really only wish to dine there for a prime Illuminations seat. TIA

I'm in the same boat. DH and I have a 7:20pm reservation booked for Rose and Crown - not really for the food (although I'm sure it's fine), but for the Illuminations view.

Other posters have said that we cannot ask to wait for a patio seat, as they are first come first served. However, they have also said that when the show begins, guests are allowed to head out to the patio to enjoy the fireworks. So it doesn't matter if you have an outdoor seat or not, you'll still get to view the show from the patio!

We ate there in September specifically for Illuminations at 7:20pm. We were not allowed to wait for a patio table-it was all first come first served. So, we got a very nice table inside.
Our server asked us if we wanted to stay and see the show. We told her yes and she told us she would walk us to the reserved patio area for us to view Illuminations after our meal.

So, after our meal was done, prob around 8:40 or so, our server walked us outside to the special Illuminations area! It was a great location and it was roped-off. It was right next to the outside Patio, right on the water.

We had a perfect viewing location, however, the Illuminations music couldn't be heard!!! I'm not sure if it was just happened on our night or if this is how it is all the time. Maybe someone else can comment on this!

We were disappointed because we love the music that goes along with Illuminations! But the viewing area was great!

We had this exact experience in August, but we could hear the music. Our server was very accommodating, and he timed everything so that we'd finish just in time for the viewing, and then he led us to the roped off area to view the show.

We also had the same experience.... ressies were for 7:10, we had an indoor table (which I was disappointed with at first), but our server was so funny and accommodating. Our server stretched our meal out so we would be there for Illuminations. Then he led us to the roped off area about 10 mins before Illuminations and we had the best spots!!! I would definately recommend Rose & Crown, and don't worry about getting an outdoor table. Good luck!
