I made an ADR for Rose and Crown at 7:30. They wouldn't allow me to request the patio section since it's so popular. If I get there and all the tables are filled up at 7:30 will they let me wait until a table comes free or will I have to take whatever's available? :confused3

I believe they will let you wait. When we went last year we prefrerred to eat indoors. Thank goodness it rained both time during dinner!

I've been to R & C four times for dinner and each time I've gotten the patio. I made an ADR for 7:30 but arrived about 7:10 and told them I'd really like a patio table and I was willing to wait. It's certainly not a guarantee by any means, but I lucked out and it worked for me. I don't think we ever had to wait long, I think the trick is probably in being early, so as to be among the first 7:30 people to check in, but not too early that they won't seat you. This was a few years ago, I think 2/03 was the last time I ate there, so perhaps now they don't take requests even at the podium. I hope you get it, the view of Illuminations from there is spectacular!

Yes they will let you wait, but if youre talking about Illuminations being at 9, you're not likely to have much luck. Its its not til 9:30, your chances are better.

Dudn't work for us, we got there early and asked veyr politiy if it would be possibler to wait for a patio table, we got a very kurt and even rude repol that everybody wanted the patio and we would have to see what we got! Needless to say we did not get one.

We had an awful experience at the Rose and Crown last April...we were not only not given a seat on the patio, but when I took my son out onto the patio during Illuminations...we were RUDELY told to take our seats...my son was in tears...while other diners were allowed to table hop and move to the patio which had several seats available...on top of the rude service, the food was cold, greasy and a very big disappointment...I would find another location to watch Illuminations. :crazy2:
