RoR BGs and ADR Conflicts

I'm getting ready for a family trip during the week of January 5. On our planned day for touring Galaxy's Edge, we have a number of ADRs (2 different parties in Olga, 1 Savi, 1 Droid Workshop) in Galaxy's Edge. When I got the ADRs several weeks ago, I had no idea that RoR would be using the BG system, so the reservations are spaced out so we go from one to the other and/or to a FP reservation on a tight, but not-too-tight schedule (basically, we planned it giving about an hour for each activity and the transition to the next).

Those of us who are doing RoR will hit the turnstiles 30 minutes before park opening at 8 am and we will try to get our BGs as soon as they become available per the advice on the (other, excellent) thread relating to the subject.

My problem is that if we get called for our BG at any point between about 9:15 am, and 11 am (which seems VERY likely, based on what I'm able to learn about the BG system) it could potentially conflict with one or more of the ADRs that we have planned. The Savi reservation is the one that worries me the most, because it sounds like you could end up waiting up to 20 minutes and then need another 20+ minutes for the experience at Savis.

I am also hesitant to schedule for other days because it will potentially interfere with hard-to-get FPs and ADRs that I've secured in other parks.

So, here is my question: in your experience, how flexible will the CMs be if I ask for either (a) a different/later BG due to the ADRs or (b) a different time on one of the ADRs (and Savi's in particular)? If you were me, would you just take the risk of it all sorting out on the same day as the other GE ADRs or would you start trying to change the ADRs so they aren't spaced together as much?

I'm planning the same type situation. We're doing a full week, so our plans allow for a "Galaxy Edge ride day" and a totally different day to explore the rest of HS. We scheduled our Ogas and Lightsaber/droid build for the next day. We did a really late dinner ADR for the GE ride day just to be safe. Good luck! I'm interested to see if anyone has experienced CM flexibility.

You have two hours to return once your boarding group is called. That should be plenty of time.

@rteetz - thanks for the reply, but we do have multiple ADRs set during the morning that require us to be there at a specific time and that will take minimum 30-45 minutes each. That may not leave time for us to get away for 45 mins to an hour to do RoR during a 2 hour window. So I am still a little worried about it.

So is everything booked back to back or are they spread out? Droid building is rather quick and you can go a little early. Say even if you missed your droid reservation I’m sure they could work with you if you explain the situation. Droid building isn’t all that busy really. In November I was in and out in maybe 20 minutes. Savi’s is also rather quick. You pick your kit after checking in and it’s about 15 minutes and you’re out as well. Oga’s is the only think that takes some time.

I was in the same situation as u this past Friday when we went and like u, I want to be prepared, have all the info and know how to react in advance just in case our boarding group conflicted with another reservation. So what I done was followed the boarding group thread very closely and was able to time out when to join a boarding group to try and get the best time for my other plans and it worked out perfect. In order for u to get called between 9-11, u would have to be at the park pretty early so if I were u, I would keep close eye on the boarding group thread and try to time ur arrival to the park and joining a boarding group around the times that will land u a boarding group after 11, sounds harder than it really is. Plus, once u get ur boarding group, u can watch the progress of the groups and can get a good ideal of when it going to get called, minus any unforeseen ride break downs. Once u have an ideal of ur time, u can also try to time out ur fp by getting to one as soon as u can and going to the next at the very end of ur time window, thus giving u a 2hr window to play with. But, if all else fails, once u get ur boarding group and it looks like its going to conflict with another rsvp, just go see a guest rep and they will absolutely adjust ur time or explain to u what to do but dont worry, u will not have to choose between doing something or dropping something. I spoke with a guest service rep about this and she explained to me that their fully aware of these type of situations and not to worry and she also explained that they dont charge u for any missed reservations until 24hr later for this very reason. For example,
say u missed ur Droid Depot reservation at 3pm cause u were stuck on ROR, they wont just charge u, just go find guest rep or cm and explain u missed ur rsvp due to ROR and they will cancel ur old reservation so u dont get charged and will then get u rite into Droid asap so u get to do that as planned without waiting. So no worries.

I haven't been in the park yet, but did want to advise as it looks like no one has yet in your thread (and cause I'm going on Jan. 6 so in the same boat as it were), the opening time for the park has actually been bumped up to 7 a.m. not 8 (literally in one day. It still said 8 yesterday, now says 7). Just wanted to give you a heads up so you don't arrive late and miss out on RoR!

We had a potential conflict. Walked over to Savis and were accommodated early. Olga's and Droid should be easy to switch, maybe standby. You have a 2 hour window. Use that for Savi, assuming they can't move you.
