Rope-dropping Rise: Adventureland vs. Fantasyland side

Actually, many times people have told me that I resembke actor Mark Feuerstein. Sometimes people would even call out to me in the street. He’s been in a number of movies/TV shows. Here’s a pic in which I think I resemble him remarkably. The first time I showed this to a close friend she was surprised and said “Wow, you know Mel Gibson?!” ;-).

Ha, that’s great!!

@WonkaKid did you see that Converse has a new Wonka collection?

I hadn't seen/heard about this. It looks like it's all based on/inspired by the new movie. When it comes to Willy Wonka, I'm a Wilder purist. I'm not interested in anything Wonka outside of that universe.

Aside: I've made countless Golden Tickets over the years and they look pretty good. In fact, the font and wording are screen-accurate. However, I've never been able to find the kind of foil that was used for the original movie. There are a few art-store gold/copper papers that aren't bad but they're obviously not correct. Often on Halloween -- whether I was dressed as an Oompa Loompa or WW -- I'd hand out (what looked like) actual Wonka bars. When people opened them and found golden tickets inside, they'd always go nuts. I'd always warn parents of small children to manage the kids' expectations. That is, make sure they don't believe that they're actually going to Wonka's factory :-).

I was surprised by the trailer for the new one in that it appears to at least attempt to be a prequel to the Wilder movie in some ways. I was expecting something more like the Burton version, but it's not. I'm not necessarily saying it looks good, but it is at least a tad more interesting being set in the Wilder-style universe.

I was thinking the same thing.
