Is this possible or will it be insane like FOP in AK? We will be there in Sept hoping the craze slows down by then..

The craze seems to have died down already in comparison to FoP. Check the MDE times. It's nothing compared to the multihour waits of FoP. By April you should be fine.

i can understand this since slinky dog is not FOP. I hear SDD is getting warm reviews as opposed to FOP's rave reviews

Was there yesterday for the first time. Had a FP, so no problem. standby was 75 minutes around 1:30. Aliens was 40 minutes standby but we were easily done within a half hour. What we noticed was that a lot of the times were reasonable with Rockin Roller coaster an hour (maybe less) and TSM 55 minutes. We have been here since Sunday and overall we think the crowds at all the parks are very reasonable, so that might be contributing to the lower wait times.

We rope dropped the 2nd day it was open (extra magic hours started at 7, we were in line at 5:50 and still were not first!). They let us on the ride around 7:10 due to some delays, but we were off by about 7:30 and went to ride Toy Story Mania with a short 10 minute wait. Going back this weekend to rope drop again, but are going to ride Alien Saucers after. You should definitely be OK for April. Have fun!

Heads up that there are AP preview days almost every day in sept so that may have some effect on rope drop wait times.

We were there Saturday, so the ride was 1 week old. We had a FP for Slinky so we rope dropped Toy Story Mania at 7 am. (Arrived at 7 for opening at 7, did not arrive in advance.) After TSM Slinky was 25 minutes so we just did it standby and took about 20. So, no chaos at 7 am rope drop.

I went last night and got there at 8, Slinky was posted at 60, waited 40, had FP for Alien, waited 5 (Standby was 10) and 10 minutes for Mania. It was dark, not hot, and I'm guessing with everyone at Fantasmic, the area was very easily to navigate and finish. If you can, go during that time, we finished the whole land in 2 hours.
