Rope Drop path to Splash

What's the best way to get to Splash Mountain at rope drop?

Through Liberty Square?
Through Adventureland past POTC?
Through Adventureland, go right at Magic Carpets and left at Country Bears?

Are there CMs to walk you the whole way? If so, are there CMs at every viable path to an attraction? I've never RD'ed before, so I have trouble imagining how that works.

I do not know the exact fastest path - I know others here do! - but I can tell you that I have never seen a wait longer than 10 minutes at Splash in the first hour. I think no matter how you get there, you will walk right on if you head straight there at RD.

either the first or third way would be fine. If you want to ride Big Thunder Mtn., I would hit that first, then Splash. It's a shorter ride, so you'll be on to ride #2 quicker and still not have a wait at Splash.

We've done in many different ways. We usually go on BTMRR first, then Splash. We've never had an issue. It seems that most people are heading towards PP or 7DMT. Frontierland seems pretty empty that early.

Through adventureland, right at the magic carpets, turn left, I usually take the wooden dock along the water, then you’re right there

We've gone to BTM at rope drop through Liberty Square. A cast member will walk you to the attraction. I would also recommend doing BTM first and then Splash if you want to do both!

Thanks! Since we only have one day -- and it's in August, so we're planning a long afternoon break to get out of the heat -- we're going to sacrifice BTMR and 7DMT. DH is a huge coaster fiend, so he finds those two too dinky and too similar to each other, aside from the theming that he also doesn't care about. (How did I marry this person?). We might jump in line for 7DMT a minute before park closing, if we feel like it, but otherwise they're not high on our list of priorities.

Yup.
There is very little need to "hurry" to Splash or BTM at rope drop.
Those attractions will have little to no line for the first 60-90 minutes of the morning.

Virtually "everyone" is headed elsewhere at rope drop (and rightly so.)

If you intend to ride virtually ANYTHING else at MK that morning, I'd head to that attraction first, then mosey to BTM/Splash.

Thanks, both! So this CM thing -- what if you go the route that cuts right of Magic Carpets? I imagine that means splintering off from the crowd led by CMs. What if that dumps you out in front of the CM leading people from Liberty Sq? Do you get "yelled" at? I want to do it "correctly"! (There's so many attractions and paths, I just can't see how CMs manage RD.)

(Is this too neurotic? It's too neurotic. :scared:)

Thanks! I know it's not the smartest plan, but Frontierland is my favorite place in WDW. So I'd rather waste some time having it all to myself (well, almost) instead of crossing attractions off my list. I'll regret it later...

There will be a CM where you come through next to Country Bears who will hold you there until the Liberty Square folks come by. You will be able to be at the front of the pack coming from Liberty Square.

# 3 is our preference as well.
Another vote to do BTMRR and then go to Splash. While it can happen, I have rarely seen a long line for Splash early in the morning. BTMRR seems to have the longer line, but nowhere near Peter Pan or 7DMT.

Thank you! That's awesome. I think that's the path we'll take; I was nervous about looking like we were trying to cheat!

We do at least two days in MK each trip. One of those days, we start in Frontierland, then walk back and hit POTC or HM. We try to get FP for the popular rides in Fantasyland (PP or 7DMT) during the early afternoon. I'm not sure if it's the smartest plan, but my family does it every year and we always have a great time. The other day, we start in Tommorowland at Space Mountain.

This is exactly what we have planned for our upcoming trip. We figure if "everyone" is heading for Fantasyland, we will head elsewhere!
