Rope drop NRJ - exit time?

I need some help with planning an animal kingdom day. I want to rope drop Na’vi River Journey. I plan to arrive at Animal Kingdom at 8:30am for a 9am opening (non EMH). Touring plans estimates it to be a level 6 day and says I will get out of NRJ at 9:35. That seems later then I expected. I have read that in the past Pandora was opening prior to the stated park opening time and I was hoping to be out right at 9. What’s a realistic expectation?

I just did this an accidentally thought the park opened at 8am instead of 9am (no EMH). It ended up being a happy accident because when we got to the park around 7:50am we were let into the park around 8:30, front of the line. We were held at the opening to pandora and then let into pandora around 8:40am. We went straight to FOP so cannot say the turnaround time for NRJ but do think that you will be towards the back of the crowd if you get there when the park is posted to open. We walked right on the ride but when we got off the people in the back couldn’t say the same at all. We then went to NRJ and waited about 10-15 minutes.

That sounds about right. By the time you get there, they'll already be letting people into the park. If you get to the gates at 8:00 instead of 8:30, you could be off the ride before 9:00.

Or you could get there at 8:00, head right to FoP, then head to NRJ and be done with both by 9:30.

I RD NRJ in early December. Was a 9am opening, got there at 8, let in Pandora around 8:45 and off ride by around 9. When we got off, FoP already had a big line. Then we headed to EE, which had no line at all.

It sounds like the lime quickly gets to 15 minutes.

Are both Pandora rides opening at the exact same time in the morning? Or does FOP open first?
