My understanding is that they do rope drop at DL when the park opens later than 8:00, is this correct?
We are going this fall and the opening time will likely be 9:00am when we visit.

What about days when there is MM? Do they still do rope drop at 8:00 for MM or just let you through the turnstiles at 8:00?

What about DCA? What is the current procedure over there?

Thanks everyone!

As of last weekend, at DCA they just let everyone in for EMH one hour before park opening - no rope drop. They did, however, hold everyone up at the entrance to CL - we all then followed Lightning McQueen slowly down the road to walk toward RSR. For the non-EMH people, they let them in early but only to BVS. They had rope drop at the regular park opening time. HTH. :)

Thanks.

What about DL? Anyone know if they do a rope drop for MM?

I don't know what they are doing now, but I've never seen a rope drop for EE before (as recently as last October).

FWIW, there is no rope drop procedure. It can change day to day. With the EMH changes coming on Sept 30 it will likely change it once again. The basic idea is knock lines down at the turnstiles before the park opens to make a more efficient opening.

In my experience at DL they do not let EE guests in early for RD. They often do thought for regular non-EE guests.

We were there last week of August -- there was no rope drop for EE at DL, and also no "early" entry for early entry, if that makes any sense! They just opened the turnstiles at EE opening. At regular opening, they were letting guests in early and holding them at the end of Main Street until opening.

In DCA, there was also no rope drop for EE on the hotel guest only days (I did hear someone say they had one on APEE days). They also did not hold us anywhere, just told us to walk, not run. There was a rope drop for regular entry.
