Hello! These may sound like strange questions, but sadly, as I have gotten older, my routines have gotten more engrained. I need my sleep - 7-8 hours. I also have to shower before bed -my whole family does. If you close the park the night before, what time do you all get to bed to be up and ready for rope drop the next day? How many hours of sleep do you get? When does everyone shower? Does split sleeping do the trick (make up for lost sleep at night at naptime during the day)? I know these are weird questions, but these are my legitimate concerns, lol!! I do not want to spend the money to be in a sleep deprived brain fog all day! I guess we will try it and just see how it goes - I was just wondering what you all do.

We try to plan our park closing and rope dropping based on the hours. So for example AK tends to open earliest and Epcot latest, so we wouldn't try and close Epcot then rope drop AK the next morning. Aside from Epcot none of the parks really close that late, so we tend to all shower at night after returning from a park and still get to sleep at a reasonable hour. That way we don't have to get up super early the next morning to get ready. We can typically be out the door within 30 minutes of alarm going off.

We gave up rope drop on our first trip in 1994, after we realized that, coming from Central Time, we’d be getting up earlier for rope drop than we did at home for work and school. It wasn’t worth it to us to be more tired (and grumpy) on vacation than we were at home :crazy2: ! So we didn’t rope drop, but we sure did close down the parks (and take full advantage of evening EMH and E-Ticket nights) on our many subsequent trips!

We are the same, needing a shower before bed, but we are all also early risers, like 5am. So we rope drop and only close the park for MK and then do Epcot the next day.

Not weird......I get it, my sister is the same way and we tease her that she's like a newborn baby we need to keep on schedule. :)

If we close the park and it's the summer months we definitely shower before bed so it could be midnight/1am before we are actually in bed. But we also don't plan too many late nights/early mornings since we're on vacation. If we know we will have two consecutive long days with early mornings/late nights, we usually throw in a resort only day. We can do it a few days but I don't want to have a rushed/not relaxing vacation. I am not a prison warden and won't force my family into some deranged military style family trip. I like my vacations to actually be enjoyable.

We are not as rigid on sleep schedules and if needed, we'll do midday park breaks (especially in the summer) and do naps. Also, my kids are teens so they can outpace us and pull all nighters, me and my husband just feel like crap if we do it too much as we've gotten older, but we manage to make late nights and early mornings work, just can't do too many in a row.
