Rope drop/FP strategy for Adventureland/Frontierland

We plan on spending the morning until lunch time in the Adventureland and Frontierland area in MK on a low-ish/moderate crowd day in late April 2018, and we are going back and forth on what rides are better to rope drop and which ones to FP (also saving 1 FP for Space Mountain later on so we will use 2 in this area). Rides we are going back and forth on for this are Splash Mountain (only 1 of the 2 of us want to do this one), Big Thunder, Pirates, and Jungle Cruise. Any thoughts on which 2 to rope drop, and which order to do those, and which 2 to FP?

Personally, I would rope drop Big Thunder (can ride more than once if you like), then Splash Mountain, then you can either FP or standby Pirates (We usually standby so we can save our FP) and then definitely FP+ for Jungle Cruise.

I don't like doing Jungle Cruise at rope drop because they usually wait until the boat fills up which takes a few minutes, and then the ride itself is not short. I can get through BTMRR multiple times in that same amount of time and be on my way to Splash. I find if we are in line for Splash by 9:30 its fine.

We’ve hit JC cruise first thing the last two years and had really good luck with that and then 2 rides on BTMR for less than a 10 min wait. Then we’ve done Splash with maybe a 15 min wait and hit Pirates for maybe 15. This has been first week of May, moderate crowd days. If you’re there on a low to moderate day you can do all of that without an FP. If you do JC anything other than first you want an FP for it. If you want to do Splash later (warmer) that’s a good FP option too.

I think the ride is less important than the time...in other words, rope drop a couple of them, then FP later. I would go straight to JC then PoTC then have FP for BTMRR then end with FP Splash (since you might get a little wet and then it will be later in the morning).

Is it a EMH morning (and you are on site)? If yes, and if it is truly a moderate crowd day, you should be able to get through JC, PoTC, BTMRR with little wait. Might want to FP Splash or PP, HM, Buzz for later in the morning.

I just did this a few weeks ago on a moderate day. Started with Haunted Mansion and proceeded through Jungle Cruise and Pirates, then on to BTMRR X 2 and finally Splash Mountain. No issues or need for a fast pass for any of them. You can then use your fast passes for Space and any of they other rides that interest you. Even though it felt a bit like a waste to rope drop moderate wait attractions, it was actually a pleasant start to the day.

The Adventureland/Frontierland stuff is not open during morning EMH, I don't think.

@wdw&sonny No EMH that day, and its a green park but a Sunday so probably closer to moderate than low crowds (i think a 6 out of 10 predicted). We have a 2nd MK day later in the week to cover Fantasyland, Liberty square and anything else we don't get to that day.

My wife and I did this last week. We rope dropped Big Thunder Mountain, then did Splash Mountain, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, and Aladdin, in that order. All rides were walk on. We had our own boat on Pirates, and shared our Jungle Cruise with one other family. It was a perfect morning.

We then used our fastpasses at Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, and Space Mountain. It would have been a waste to use FPs on any of the Frontierland or Adventureland rides.
