Rope Drop every day?

We are early risers, alarm goes off at 4:30 when we have to work. Even on weekends I'm up early, hardly ever sleep past 6:00, I just wake up. So since that's our normal routine, would it be a bad thing to hit rope drop (a couple EMH in there) every day? I won't want to wear us out, but I also know we'll probably be up so might as well hit the parks early. On the flip side, we don't stay out late. We're normally in bed between 8:30-9:00. Most days we'll be done by 7:00, and we won't be going from rope drop until then, I have breaks scheduled too. I may even have one day when we don't do the parks and do other things.

Am I crazy to go with this plan, or should I rethink it?

We are going May 29 - June 5, staying at BWV. It will be me and DD11, this will be our 5th trip (first mother/daughter trip though).

That is how I tour the parks, and some family members do the same thing. We get up and go, sometimes taking a break midday, sometimes not. I prefer to go to bed earlier and get up earlier. The only real exception to think about is if there are certain nighttime shows you want to see, and you are nervous about being to tired that day, or maybe realize you won't want to get up quite so early the next day. Breakfast is another factor to consider. I'm usually up so early that the food courts/restaurants in the hotel are not open yet, so I make sure there is something in the room for me to eat before/while I get ready.

The only other thing I'd consider is if your daughter may like to try to stay out later for something different, maybe just get her input as you go.

This depends on your stamina. If youre leaving semi early every day and taking breaks, you should be fine. We RD every day but our rest days, and we stay till closing, that’s just our style, and we love it. Can be exhausting at times, but we love the parks first thing in the morning.

Not crazy at all - it sounds like that will be the best plan based on your natural rhythms. We are morning people and have to work hard to see the nighttime shows. We've done 6 day trips and been at rope drop 1/2 early every day and loved it - it's just what fit best for us. Disney is about having fun - so do what sounds good to you and have a great time.

We rope drop every day. We get to ride a lot of rides without FP. It’s less hot in the morning, and since we go in the summer, we are more comfortable. We go to the pool after lunch or nap in the A/C. Sometimes we go back out at night.

I think that's a great schedule, and so many people sleep in because its "vacation", so you can do so much before it gets busy around mid morning. I would do one afternoon nap/late night and see either Star Wars fireworks at HS or the Fireworks at MK.

I have asked my daughter and she says she wants to get up early and go so we can ride more stuff without long waits. We normally don't eat a lot for breakfast, so just of cereal in our room will work fine. The one thing I'm struggling with is the night time shows. We've never seen fantastmic so that's one I'd like to fit into our plans. I thought since we're staying at the Boardwalk, we could walk back afterwards and it might not be too bad since we wouldn't have to wait for Disney transportation.

The good thing with rope drop is you don't always have to pre-plan to do rope drop. :-)

We don't build a plan around doing it every day and will usually have some days that I don't necessarily intend on getting to the park at rope drop. But often we're up and itching to get going, so end up rope dropping anyway. And since sometimes/most of the time you can utilize the first hour or so however you please, we'll just wing it. Then have our plan (FPs, etc) kick in mid-morning.

I would definitely include one of the fireworks...MK or Fantasmic are great options. Coming back to the room for an afternoon nap would be an easy option for Fantasmic as you are staying at the BW. Enjoy!

Not sure why its crazy?
I'm not a morning person at all but at Disney I am up and out the door every morning for RD or AM EMH and I got until after the parks close.
I don't find it to be crazy.

We will be doing a schedule very much like this next week. We will be up early for RD every day EXCEPT the day after we see Fantasmic (which will be the only night-time show we will see). Our plan for the day after Fantasmic is a late morning start, and we will be doing it at Animal Kingdom. We have two days for AK, so we will be rope-dropping Navi the other AK day (we were fortunate enough to get Flight of Passage FPs for both AK days).

So if you have two days for the same park, you might consider doing something similar (later start the day after Fantasmic, but Rope Drop that park the other day).

We rope drop every day when we're in WDW. We typically take an afternoon break for a few hours, the kids nap and we get a quick swim in before heading back to the parks till 8ish. We typically only do two later nights for evening shows and try to do them near the end of our trip.

My son and I (he was 9 at the time) did rope drop every single day. (Except for the two days we were actually there earlier for PPO breakfasts.) I did have to drag him out of bed some days but once he got moving it was great and we never regretted it.

Most nights we also did the evening shows. We did take a swim break each afternoon then returned to the park after dinner.

We were there in July/August so the morning and evening touring hours were perfect.

We have the same everyday schedule as you (up at 4:30, never sleep past 6:00). So we always do rope drop. It does become hard to see the shows at night since our usual bedtime is the same as yours. For example, we usually go to Disneyland, been there once a year for years, and yet we’ve never once made it to see The World of Color show.

What we do is schedule rest days for the day after the days where we plan on trying to see the night time shows. So we rope drop and stay until the nighttime show and then just take the next day off.

We rope drop most days. I'm an early riser but I'm usually ready for bed at 9pm. Staying up for the night shows is killer. We go first thing and stay for a few hours. Once noon rolls around and it starts getting too hot, we take off for a meal and a mid day nap. If we have a night show planned, we go back to the park about 6-7pm.

We typically go rope drop to close all 10 days of our trip. Usually, we have one non park day in the middle, where we get up a bit later. It is tiring, but we never regret it. At home, I am usually up at 6, sometimes 5, and seldom get more than 6 - 6.5 hours of sleep.

I have always been a rope drop to close person. Want my money’s worth I guess. LOL I have been known to take monorail over to GF to chill in lobby for a break. Or find a bench in another park.

I would save the nighttime shows for the last days of your trip, with fast passes reserved for a little later in the morning the next day.

On my one and only trip we rope dropped every day. We're also early risers. We took afternoon breaks during which, we would nap and swim. My DH said he felt like he got two days in one.

When I go for normal trips (not for running), I'm in the parks from rope drop to close every single day I'm there. I go to Disney for the parks, so I make the most of it. So I don't think rope drop with early nights every day is crazy at all.
