Rooms with UPH package?

When we book a package we take advantage of the UPH. This provided us with all the flexibility we want.

Is that the only way to get UPH?....with a package?

I heard that the UPH prices are going up. I am assuming that will affect the package prices too.

We did the FTP in 2003, and then the 5+2 pkg this summer. That made it affordable for our large family to go the WDW. I am worried that if the UPH are increased this may price us out of a vacation.

Any thoughts?

You CAN get UPH's for a room-only reservation. You can definitely ask to buy them at check-in (no discounts) but I'm not sure how it works if you order them when you make your room reservation.

I haven't heard about a rate increase, so I can't help you there.

We have done room only with the UPH add-on for our past couple of trips. If you purchase the UPH before you go down, it must be for your length of stay and you'll receive a 10% discount. If you wait until check-in, you'll be pay the full amount, but you also have the option at that point of dropping either your day of arrival, or the day of your departure. You can't drop a day prior to arriving.

I have had them drop first and last day with no problems when I had the UPH. I bought them when we checked in.

How much does it lower the cost of the tickets? We are staying for 6 days 5 nights and were probably going to do the regular 4 day park hoppers because we probably would not get into orlando until mid or late afternoon on check in day and we are leaving early on check out day. Thanks for any help.

Don't know where there is a chart showing this but it took 2 days off for us.

I think UPH are great. I had kids with me that wanted to do DQ, water parks, along with the theme parks. I really feel like I got my monies worth.

If you look around on this site, you can also find a lengthy discussion of possible tickets and what might best work for your trip.

Also, I have read in the Unofficial Guide that packages don't really save you money unless you take advantage of everything included in them, and that is very difficult to do. You might want to price out buying the package elements seperately to see if this also holds true for you.
