Rooms to avoid at AKL

I booked a savannah view room and have heard that some views are obstructed. Any word on which levels and room numbers to avoid?

I've seen posts that the higher floors are to be avoided.

We were on the 4th floor on Zebra Trail, room 4457. No complaints about the room or the view -- both were excellent.

We were first assigned rooms 4348 & 4350. I would not consider these savannah view. We saw no animals. I couldn't even tell which supposed savannah these were facing as on the map it doesn't say. It was a little wing section off the Kudu trail. We were moved the next day to 3523 & 3525 on the Zebra trail. These rooms were excellent!

We were also on the Zebra Trail - room #4435. I would highly recommend this section of rooms. We were on the side of the savannah with the giraffe feeders and we saw all of the other animals daily. We were the last room in that section and if you look at a map, we were right around the corner from the elevator that went down to the ground floor where Simba's Cubhouse was and the door to the pools. Also it was just a short walk outdoors to the foodcourt and restaurants. We did not have any obstructed views by trees or Arusha Rock. I would think that if you were too close to the lobby, the Arusha Rock area would obstruct alot of the savannah. We could see almost the entire savannah from our room. I do think that if you were further out on the wings, the trees might present a problem with the upper floors. I cannot complain about one thing with our location. There was no noise from the hallways even though we were close to the elevator bank. The zebras and other beasts seemed to move around from one side to the other. However, for a good look at the giraffes, I would ask for the wing that we were in ( to the right from the lobby).

Also, remember that the lobby is actually on the third floor. Sometimes it gets a little confusing. I would be happy to answer any other questions you might have. Also I have a map I could send you of the rooms if you like.

we were on the 5th floor...definately no complaints...we saw a ton of animals. We were on the arusha savannah...kudos trail. It was excellent!

I really like Zebra Trail, Arusha Rock savannah... last May this location had the most animals, though at times you may not see any... but within an hour or two -bingo they are roaming in...
I'm not sure what the "obstructions" might be, but I do know that room changes are usually honored if you are not happy... this is a GREAT resot, but the animals are not tethered or on que... if you are counting on them being outside your room for twenty minutes in the morning before heading out to the theme parks you may be disappointed like some of the posters I have read. No need to glue yourself to the balcony, but a more resort weighted schedule is a must to reap the rewards at AKL... IMHO

I would use the search to locate posters who were happy with their savannah/trail rather than trying to compile a list of 'obstructed rooms.
