we are staying in a Cabana room? at the Paradise Pier in June. I was wondering if anyone could offer advice on any rooms to avoid/ask for. We have never been there and don't know much about it..also any concierge secrets/tips on maximizing your stay would be great as we have never done that before either. We will have 2 adults and 3 kids ages 15, 13, 12.

Thanks everyone!

I've stayed in the standard rooms both times I was at PPH, so I can only give my thoughts on those.

In 2007 I stayed in room 612 and had a park view (it was really pretty at night):

In 2008 I stayed in room 937 and had a pool view:

I really liked both of these rooms and would recommend them to anyone staying at Paradise Pier. :)

Ask for a room on the pool side, the kids won't be napping and the pool closes at 10pm. For concierge: Every time we left the hotel or came back, we grabbed two drinks each. Get your evening 'meal' early, it gets busy fast. We always grabbed breakfast and brought it back to the room to eat while we were getting ready. We would also grab a couple of movies each day, just in case we came back early or needed an extended break. The concierge staff will also make PS arrangements for you, very helpful.

Have fun, we've done concierge a few times and really enjoyed it.

Avoid Room #513. Poo-smelling water in the faucet. See my Trip Report (link below in signature) for the details (the October 2008 portion of the TR), even though I am sure they have fixed the problem by now.

Wow. Thanks Sherry E, we would like to avoid poo smelling water at all costs!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Yeah, poopy water is never any good! I mean, I am positive they must have remedied the problem by now (it's been 4 months), and the PPH room I stayed in back in December was fine, but just in case....be warned about #513! And Guest Communications was not very concerned about it when I complained later, so hopefully the PPH got rid of the poo!

The only 'poo' I want anywhere near DLR is the cute, cuddly bear with his paw in the hunny!
