Can anyone guide me to which resorts have rooms that will sleep 6? I would rather not book 2 rooms. I am talking about 2 adults with 4 children ages 1-8. Thanks.

We are also a family of 6. If you are looking for what is cheapest, that would be to book 2 rooms at a value resort. Otherwise, Art of Animation has family suites that sleep 6, they run around $300 a night. Also the cabins at Fort Wilderness sleep 6 and run slightly more than AoA. Beyond these choices, you'd be looking at spending big money per night for either 2 rooms or villas.

If your youngest is under 2 they don't count in the number per room. So you can technically book a 5 person room if you wanted to. Although, it would make it pretty tight. Something to consider anyway.

The cabins at fort wilderness, Art of Animation (except little mermaid), Wilderness Lodge Deluxe Room (jr. suite type, includes Club Level access), all DVC resorts (2 bedrooms), All Star Music Family Suite.

Hi, you can get a family suite to sleep 6 at ASMU and AoA, the cabins at FW will also take 6.
The CBR and PORS will take 5 plus 1 infant (under2), as will most deluxe resorts with a pack and play for the infant.

Thank you! Very helpful! He turns two over our trip dates, but I'm sure that won't be an issue. I will check out those options and see what is available.

I have to be honest, while you can fit into one standard room at most moderate or deluxe resorts, I don't think you should. I've done it, and for me, there just wasn't enough space. I think you should check out the All Star Suites. You would get a kitchenette, 2 bathrooms, and 2 separate sleeping areas. So if one or two children need a nap, you can pop them into the bedroom, and everyone else can still watch tv or hang out without having to worry about making too much noise.

With a large group you should stay at Bonnet Creek (the timeshare condos, not the hotel) or any one of numerous offsite condos/town homes/houses (we also like Bahama Bay). You will have a LOT more space for a LOT less money at some very nice places.

Oddly, Disney does not accommodate larger families very well, at least not at family pricing.

The only way I would suggest staying off site is if the OP has their own car to begin with. If you have to rent a van, it eats up a lot of what you save by staying off site. And then you have to pay for parking, along with giving up all of the on site perks.

We have only stayed at Bonnet Creek once, but it only cost $500 for a week in a three bedroom condo! We rented a full size car at MCO for ~$100/week all-in. We don't have to pay for parking, since we have Annual Passes - but even without an AP that cost per person would be small. We don't use Extra Magic Hours because those parks get crazy crowded and the day is too long. Others may have different priorities!

We did a legal six at POR when my twins were two. It was a very tight squeeze, but we managed. We wouldn't be able to stay there again without getting two rooms, so I'm glad we were able to while we could.

Renting a car is vastly different in cost from renting a van. You are doing good if you can get a van for $350 a week. I just checked for the week my family was eyeing in October, and at Dollar a van comes back at $464.98. And that is the Pay Now rate. The Base Rate is $547.04.
