Rooms not cleaned daily at AKL?

We stayed at AKL in July and received housekeeping every day but one. We were surprised that we didn't receive housekeeping that day since we'd stayed there in May and had housekeeping every single day.

You are supposed to be getting housekeeping every day at AKL, OP, unless this is a DVC reservation. There was no need to opt in when we were there.

As others have posted, you have to go to the front desk at AKL (or any resort) when you have a problem. The people on the phone aren't present at the hotel itself.

We got back last week from a stay at AKL and had daily housekeeping. To be honest I actually thought it was kind of yucky to see the housekeeping carts all over the place - and we did at all hours of the day and night! We had a regular reservation (not dvc) and stayed in a savanna view.

When we went last year we stayed at CR and they did NOT have daily housekeeping back yet but we called and asked if we could get some fresh towels the morning after we arrived because we were all gross from plane used all the towels the night prior. We were surprised when we came back from the park that they made up the room FULLY and then did so every day that trip! I’m sure it was a fluke! It was really kind of them tho to do that for that first day when I just asked for towels. Overall we thought the garden view wing at CR was much cleaner and had a better look (we never saw housekeeping carts around, attended or not) than AKL did.

When me and my family used to stay in hotels during vacations we never witnessed these problems except twice. Once when my family went to Washington we stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and we had gone to do shopping but when we came back our room was not cleaned and my mom had to call housekeeping to send someone to clean our room and they promised they would do it. But then they called and my uncle answered and they told my uncle that they had to get another bunch of housekeepers and then they would service our room which they never did until we got an apology from the maid at night saying that they would service our room the next day but we were going home that day. Another time was when my mom and I stayed at a Courtyard By Marriott hotel and we had requested housekeeping in the morning but the housekeeper never came in the morning and so my mom called the front desk four times to have our room cleaned and FINALLY the housekeeper came at 4PM in the afternoon and when we asked what had happened the housekeeper told us that there was a housekeeper shortage because some of the housekeepers had taken the day off and we got a nice apology about it too. I think Animal Kingdom Lodge might've had a shortage of housekeepers on those days and they simply could not be able to service your room. But what I think you should do is next time you see a housekeeper with a cart on your floor you should ask her kindly to please service your room after she's done servicing the room next door and also do not be afraid to ask for the housekeeper's name so you can remember to request her to service your room when you call for housekeeping service. That's how my mom and I learned how to get our hotel room serviced each time and we would always request the same housekeeper because she was nice. And that's a secret thing you should do next time you have this problem at any Disney hotels. I would also write a complaint email to Disney Resorts and you should be able to get a discount on your room or a ShopDisney gift card

We’ve been here since the 7th and they’ve cleaned every day except for one. I have noticed progressively more cast members wearing masks each day, so maybe they had a bunch of call outs? I’ve also seen quite a few clearly being trained.
