Rooms near each other?

we are traveling with another pair of friends. they have a garden view room and we have a standard.
what are the chances if we all check in together of getting rooms near each other?
also we probably wont' arrive at PB until after 7pm, should we call a few days before to have them note the accounts?

I would have it noted on both reservations as travelling together. Then at check in ask again if rooms can be near each other. I didnt know Portofino had standard view or what the locations are.
I usually travel with friends and Universal is pretty good about getting rooms together or near.
most of the time we have same booking category but once at RP I had standard view and my girlfriend had pool view. We were directly across the hall from each other.

Don`t wait till a few days before to call for the request, do it as soon as you can then call again just before 5 days out as rooms are usually assigned then.

Good advice. We have it noted on reservations the moment we book. Along with location request. I haven’t phoned 5 days in advance though. Probably a good idea. I’ve just reminded them at check In.

Here now at RPR and checking in was a nightmare. Called in advance and asked for connecting rooms in tower 3 for our parties. Front desk said they had no record of this. Universal reservations don’t communicate with the hotels apparently. Took over an hour to get checked in.
