All the 'standard' rooms at the GF are the same in size except for two things. One - the theme of the room and Two - the dormer/attic rooms are slightly smaller than other rooms BUT they have a cathedral ceiling which makes the room feel very open! I love the dormer rooms.
The room themes vary from building to building.
Conch Key and Big Pine Key are the Alice in Wonderland theme.
Sago Cay is the Swan theme with characters from Wind in the Willows.
Boca Chica is the floral theme.
Sugar Loaf (which is lodge concierge) is the cameo theme with Sleeping Beauty characters.
I like the Alice theme rooms. They're different shades of blue and the Alice characters are hidden in the bedspread and the toiletries also have Alice characters. The swan theme rooms are in shades of yellow with swans on the bedspread along with hidden characters from Wind in the Willows. The floral theme is pink in shades, but I don't think there are any hidden characters. All rooms have this great Mickey lamp you will want to take home with you!!!!!
The corner rooms are bigger than the standard rooms. They're 550 sq. feet as compared to about 400 sq. feet. But I don't know if there are any 'standard' view rooms like that. I think all the corner rooms are lagoon view rooms and I also think that the new policy is going to be to charge more for these corner rooms.
We stayed in Conch Key in a standard room and in Sago Cay in a dormer room. I like the dormers better because of the open feeling the ceiling creates AND they have private balconies. The other balconies are not enclosed. I like th eprivate balconies, even though it meant we couldn't see the castle while lying in bed. But we had a great fireworks view from that room.
