Do they exist at a moderate price either at Disney itself or very close to Disney perhaps in the Village? Really don't want a villa we like room service too much :)

Hi Sam

I believe that some of the rooms at POFQ can accomodate five guests. I don't think any of the other moderates have rooms for five.

My reasoning exactly ! ;)

My friend stayed at PO Riverside, family of 5. The rooms for 5 are in the Alligator Bayou section.

We stayed at Courtyard by Marriott DTD in August last year (now Holiday Inn I believe)

Five of us, myself, DH, DD (21), DS (16) and DS (13).

We had a lovely large room with two queens and a rollaway. We were there for two weeks and managed beautifully.

With two volatile teenage boys and a prima donna in the mix I was agreeably surprised at how well we all got on (Actually a lot better than we do at home lol)

Not sure of your definition of 'at moderate price', Sam ;), but as well as the rooms with a rollaway at POR (as already mentioned) and there are rooms that will accommodate 5 at most, if not all, of the luxury resorts.

I think the Holiday Inn Family Suites also have rooms for 5. :)

Another option for 5 (but you won't get room service!) is a cabin at Fort Wilderness, or any of the larger DVC accommodations (but you already knew that, right? ;))

Thanks so much this is a great help :-)

I'm gonna see what price I can get for PO and then go from there

Woo-hoo I'm so pleased this can be done :Pinkbounc

Sam, maybe I should explain the concept of a honeymoon...:crowded:

Sorry, nothing helpful to add to this thread, but, needless to say, I've been on the vino. :crazy2:

LOL Debs - OK I'll come clean it's not for us it's for my Future BIL and family but obviously when I said "we" I meant the Royal "we" ..... I'm pretty sure I have the concept of a honeymoon in hand at least I'm sure I will come the "hen" party - lord help me ;) ;)

The extra bed is a trundle bed in the rooms that accommodate 5 at the Riverside, and are only suitable for a child age 9 years and under. It is the only moderate that can accommodate 5 in some rooms. (As TT says, in the Alligator Bayou).
(The French Quarter rooms have a maximum of 4 guests).

Oh dear looks like that might be a no-brainer then as the youngest is 12 although she's petite.

What about the Swan or Dolphin does anyone know ?

Sam,

It's not on site but I've just booked a 2 bed suite at Cypress Pointe LBV. They look very big and have all the stuff anyone may need. They are the biggest suites I have seen, and they do a 3 bedroom version too.

Take a look

Look at the virtual tour. That site is a timeshare one but ignore that, it just has a great virtual tour and I booked through hotelkingdom for $64 a night. The Grande Villas are about $84 a night.

I did not understand your comment about bot wanting a DVC resort. Why not rent a 2 bed villa at Beach Club Villas. Pay for daily housekeeping about $25 a day and all the room service and facilities of a Disney luxury hotel but cheaper if you rent points from an owner.

Renting points is certainly a possibility to be honest I didn't think anyone would have 246 points available to rent and I'm sort of uneasy about renting points off people I don't know.

It will cost 246 points for the 2 weeks which can equate to $2460 if I rented them at $10 a point plus the maid service is another $350 that totals $2810 - certainly at today's exchange rate that's quite a sweet deal.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm still waiting to hear what I can get some of the other options at cost wise before helping my future BIL make up his mind.
