Rooms at the CBR

We are doing our first vaca at WDW in December and are staying tat the CBR. We were just reading the book called WDW with Kids and it mentions that since CBR is the oldest hotel that you should ask for a refurbished room. Any feedback from anyone who recently stayed here???

I just stayed at the CBR (Caribbean Beach Resort) last week. It was very nice. We stayed in the Trinidad South rooms. It is a little of a walking distance to the main area of the resort. (Cabana bar, big pool, restaurants) but it was fine. Try and get booked in Martinique if possible. The Disney Bus service is wonderful. Rooms were decorated very nicely.
Be sure to stop by the Cabana Bar and see if Cathy the bartender is working. Tell her Dianne from PA said to make you one of her special pina coladas.

i thoink maybe the book is a little outdated. i believe *all* cbr rooms finished refurb in 2001, but i could be wrong about that.

You must have a old book. They were all refurbished. I have pictures of the rooms on my web site listed below. We have been to CBR several times this year. The food court was also refurbished. You will love CBR.

We were there last year and had a great room in Jamaica #45. Close to the pool, food court, a wonderful short walk over the bridge. This is really a beautiful resort.

We stayed at CBR late April/Early May. We were in Trinidad North and loved it. Our room was great. Very brightly decorated and very cheerful. It was a short walk to Old Port Royale, the food court and main pool The main pool was usually very crowded and lots of kids. Since it was our first trip without our kids, we spent most of our pool time at the Trinidad North pool, which was practically empty. The resort is quite nice and we used the food court often. I think you will enjoy it there! Have a great time!
