Leaving for CBR on Monday! Our first trip to Disney. Everyone tells us the food is the $$grabber! Trying to cut out the little things that add up. Is there a coffee maker in every room? I plan to bring my own coffee supplies. Are the ice machines close so filling the cooler easy? OR is it worth spending the $10 a day on a fridge? I've even considered taking the electric skillet for a few meals (grilled cheese and such) to prepare in the room!

I also saw in another thread that guests being moved from POFQ (found out about the remodel a few days after we booked at POFQ) were being offered a room upgrade for a few $ more... do you gain more than just a view with that?

All CBR rooms are the same in size and amenities, except that some have a king bed instead of two doubles. The rooms are the largest of the mods, with the same square footage as AKL/WL standard rooms.

Although, I am a BIG CSR fan, the rooms at CBR are by far nicer and larger with more storage. Have you seen the pics at wdwig.com??

When you get to your room, just call housekeeping and request your coffeemaker, hairdryer, and iron. I always request extra towels, too. You won't need to papck any, as they are available at the main pool and you bring your room towels to the quiet pool. They are more than generous with the towels.

About the food... to eliminate the need of walking back and forth to the food court, I would suggest bringing water, sodas, juice, milk boxes(like parmalat), and snacks like fresh fruit, cheese sticks, granola bars, and candy (yes, candy). Maybe packs of M&M's and potato chips, twinkies etc. That way your kids won't have to use vending machines! You can do breakfast by bringing little boxes of cereal and paper bowls and plastic spoons. I would bring coffee, cream, sugar, tea, hot cocoa, oatmeal.
I think trying to do lunch would be hard. Remember that you can split meals at any WDW restaurant and that you can order off the kids' menu at counter service. All menus can be seen at wdwig.com. We usully do breakfas in the room, lunch at a counter service in the park, then back to the resort for a beak. We eat our dinner at the parks-either sit-down or counter service. A coler shoudl be fine. Lots of ice to be had! Bring a few large ziplocs to keep it in,though.

We just returned from CBR on Sunday. There was a full-sized coffee pot in the room. The coffee "fixings" were skimpy, but we had brought our own coffee, milk and sugar so we were fine. There are ice machines on each floor (two per floor I think) - convience depends on your room. We had Jamaica 4133, the ice machine was right around the corner.

There's a LOT of storage. The TV armoire has 3 big drawers and 2 small ones. There is a big chest that has one VERY large drawer. The bathroom vanity has cubbies underneath to store items also.

IMHO all the buildings at CBR are a good distance from the food court. We are active adults in our late 30s and enjoyed the walk, but it would have been a pain to walk all that way everytime I wanted a soda refill! We didn't buy the resort mug (like we normally do) for just that reason. Fortunately we drove and brought plenty of sodas, snacks and juice boxes.

If you request Martinique or Trinidad North it isn't a long walk at all to the food court and pool.

There are quite a few ice machines so it won't be hard to keep your ice chest filled. We have done that a few times and it works well.
