We are staying at BWV for the first time next month. Is there a view of Illuminations from this resort? If so, is there a particular area I should request. We did end up with a preferred view, but I'm not even certain what that actually means.

Thanks for advice.

Not an expert but most of the "Boardwalk View" rooms have Illuminations view. Prefered used to included BWV and it was a roll of the dice if you ended up there. Now they guarantee it so maybe you should occasionally call and try to switch to BWV. Some of the parking lot rooms in STD view can also enjoy Illuminations. Good Luck.

Good luck. We just got back last night from Disney. We stayed at the Beach Club Villas for a week and the Boardwalk Villas for the second week. Our inital stay was for the Wilderness Lodge Villas, but my kids like the boardwalk and the Beach Club was booked. After the 4th try, we finally got a clean room. I did not lose my patients and tried to be calm, but it was getting very irritating. They would give us a new room, with only checking the list of cleaned rooms and give us one of those. By the 4th one, but family just sat in the lobby and waited for me to check. We did enjoy it after that and they even gave us a $100 credit for our inconvenience.

Whats that got to do with getting a BW View? :confused3

I find watching the fireworks much more enjoyable while strolling along the boardwalk. It is quite a destination.

When making the ressie, you have to request Boardwalk view, not just "preferred." Also request a villa on a higher floor and which is far from the elevators. The farther away you are, the better the view of Illuminations, anthing below xx30 or so. Rooms above xx30 are in the part of the bulding that is closer to the elevator, but which also overlooks the "town square" lawn area and don't have as good a view as those right above the Boardwalk itself.

We just got back from our stay at BWV last week, and were in villa 4001, which was as far from the elevators as one can get and had an exellent view.

Last year we could see the fireworks from our room which faced the parking lot and entrance to BW. I could just barely hear the music. It was awesome, we watched it every night before we put the kids to sleep.

If you have a Preferred View - Pool/Garden, you willnot have a view of IllumiNaitons from your balcony.

Some (not all) of the Standard View rooms have a view of the higher level fireworks from the balcony. The rooms that do are NOT close to the elevators.

All of the Preferred View - Boardwalk View rooms have a view of IllumiNation's higher level fireworks from the balcony. As already posted, the rooms farthest from the elevators have the best view and these rooms ar a separate booking category. You cannot get these rooms by request (and they are not available to anyone who is paying cash for the room).

Preferred View - Pool/Garden rooms overlook one of thee pools or the canal that goes to MGM. Many of them also hve a view of the Swan/Dolphin resorts. A few have a view of the TOT and can see some of the fireworks from Fantasmic.

As already posted, no matter where you room assignments ends up, you will be only steps away from the Boardwalk. You can see the higher level fireworks from IllumiNations (and often those from WISHES) from many spots along the Boardwalk.

Of course, the very best views of IllumiNations will be found around the World Showcase Lagoon. It's only a short (10 minute) walk from the BWV to EPCOT's International Gateway entrance. You'll easily be able to see IllumiNations every evening if you don't mind the short walk and have a hopper ticket.

Best wishes -

To get the room with the best view of the fireworks, ask for a high floor with a view of the bus stop.

And if you're real lucky you'll get one of the x123 rooms which are in the corner, larger than the regular rooms and sporting a huge balcony. However, if you get x121 or especially x101, ask for another room or you'll have your fireworks view obstructed by trees.

The fireworks views you get outside of EPCOT are minimally pleasing, really, because they are only the upper fireworks and there is no music. I think the best view of the upper fireworks is right on the boardwalk, just past the ESPN Club.

Per the Boardwalk resort map below, the ESPN club is at the far northwestern end of the Boardwalk (letter "A" on the map). The Epcot Globe is towards the direction down at the bottom left corner of the map, with the world showcase slightly above.

Consequently, because of all the trees at the ESPN end, that part of the resort doesn't have as good a view of Epcot and Illuminations as the other end of the Boardwalk "curve" (where the "Q" is down by the Jellyrolls nightclub).

You also have a better view of the fireworks if you are higher up. We just got back last week from a stay at the Boardwalk, in villa 4001, which is right between where "P" and "Q" on the map is, on the very end of the fourth floor next to and above Jellyrolls (last villa in the "Crest Of The Wave" building).

During our second day there, I ran into a CM in the hallway and mentioned how great the view of Illiminations was from our balconies, and he asked what villa we were in. When I told him, he said "you're lucky, your villa and the one right above yours have the best view of Illuminations in the house." :hyper2:

We are leaving Saturday to stay at BWV in a 2BR- may I ask what size villa you were in? What 2BRs are good? Thanks in advance! Oh, and we do have PV, if it matters!

Brandi, villa 4001 is a one bedroom. There are no dedicated two bedrooms at BWV, all of those are made up of a one bedroom and a lockoff studio next door.

As for view, is your reservation for preferred or preferred Boardwalk view? Those are different categories, you can only get Boardwalk view with the latter. If you have that, when checking in ask is there are any villas available below 35 (ergo, 2035 or lower, 3035 or lower, etc.). Those will be in the area on the map (the one I posted earlier above) between "L" and "Q;" the lower the number, the closer to Q and the better the view. :smooth:

You don't want a villa above 35, because they are in the areas labeled "J" and "K," which are much less desireable: they're set back from the Boardwalk overlooking the "town square" lawn area, with the view of the Boardwalk and Epcot somewhat blocked by the tower structure facing the Boardwalk dock (above "Y" on the map).

Most "BOARDWALK" view rooms can view illuminations. However preferred means Pool, or river view, very enchanting if you ask me. Watch illuminations from the BoardWalk it is quite awe inspiring!

How were the balconies in room 4001? Did it have a balcony for the living room and the master room? Was it covered? Also what is crest of the wave?
