I won't be applying to the DCP for another year, but the one thing that freaks me out most about even applying is roommates. I'm scared I'll end up with people that like to party or not follow the rules. So, my question is, how did you guys that are in/have done the DCP get your roommates? Was it online and if a friend gets in as well, can you request that you be with them? Also, what was your experience with rooming with other people? :confused3

You can request them through the online housing application as long as your arrival dates and end dates are the same. I met someone online, she did party and go out frequently but she never brought it home. It wasn't bad, she ended up quitting the CP early due to some family issues, I got a new roomie and she was awesome.

Generally just having rules, and your schedules tend to vary so much that you may never see your roomies depending on how many you have and what their and your roles are. Partiers aren't necessarily bad, just if it is not your thing, request they keep it out of the house. DCP housing is strict, so you can always schedule a housing meeting if there are issues.

I requested all three of my roommates through the online system, and got a two-bedroom with just the four of us.

A little over a month after check-in: two of our original four are left. One moved for medical reasons, the other self-termed due to a family emergency. We were assigned two new roommates, one who checked in after us, and the other who moved because of roommate problems, and they've both been awesome! I know some people who have had bad roommate experiences, but for the most part, I and many of the people I know have had great experiences with both picking roommates and with random roommates.
