Roomate stories?

Okay.. So I went down in August.. I ended up coming home in September :( I SO SO SO REGRET IT! the heat got to me sooo bad..

But I did roommate notification... we talked online, on the phone and had so much in common it was almost like magic... but when we got down there.. OMG was it horrible. she would eat in the room while I was sleeping, blow drying and combing her hair in her bed while i was sleeping... would take over MY TV and watch what she wanted all the time.. i hardly cared because the channels i watch at home we did not have there. she would not clean in the kitchen after we had discussed before how much cleaning people would do... it was like she had no idea how to live with someone else... I had two other roommates.. and it was interesting.. i hardly talked to one of them who was bipolar like and then the other one and i got a long great, we went to the parks and stuff..

The End.

lol. i know it's not ment to be that funny but wow!

...and guess who cleaned it all up. Me.

He was passed out in his room butt naked and the other guys all went to work. It was my one day off that week and it smelled like...well...PEE! I walked to Walgreen's and purposely charged $100 in cleaning supplies to clean it all up. Made a list of all the food in the refrigerator and who it belonged to and had a bill waiting for him when he woke up 5 hours later.

...AND...

...I was in a bus accident just a few hours later! I hoped onto the bus to MGM (it's still MGM to me!) to get clean costumes and our bus went wild and hit the back of the 'C' bus and hit a tree. They made us all go to the hospital to get check ups.

WORST CP DAY EVER!!!

Best CP Story EVER!

aawww that sucks! sorry you had such a bad day. at least i'm sure everyone on those buses were alright. did he payed back what he owed (cleaning supplies, food)? it just sounds so weird how he picked the refrigerater to pee in. well i guess when you're that drunk, people tend to do the weirdest things. reasons like this is why i don't drink.

OMG. I can totally related to this story. My one roommate brought a guy she met at a night club back to our apartment. I walked into my bathroom which he just used and found he peed in my trashcan and tub!

Eh, that doesn't sound so bad. It's just normal roommate stuff. You could hardly compare it to some drunk guy coming in and peeing in your fridge. ;)

All of us on the bus were fine, they were just following procedure by making us all get check out at the hospital. A very similar accident happened a week earlier and they let the kids go without getting check-ups. They got in major trouble. That's probably why Disney no longer uses Dynamic.

Yeah, he paid us all back, but how could someone be that stupid. I mean, I drink, not everyday, just socially. There have been times I've gotten really wasted (how I miss undergrad), but I can distinguish between a toilet and a refrigerator full of food.

This made me laugh out loud at work. People are staring. ^_^ Dude, I am SO sorry that happened and I'm sorry you had to clean it up. However, that is the single best CP story I've ever heard. Thank you.

It's still pretty inconsiderate since she could have ate in the common area and blow-dried in the bathroom or common area. I'd understand if you were in a usual 1 room-dorm situation, but there is a whole other room they could have gone into.

It definitely is inconsiderate, but each roommate is going to have to 'adapt' in a way. Roommate 1 should learn to blow dry her hair in the bathroom, and Roommate 2 should let herself sleep through any situation. It's a very common problem that arises whenever 2 different people with 2 different schedules and different 'quirks' decide to live together.

And even though flipturngirl says she talked to the person online and got to know each other beforehand, people know you don't truly know somebody until you live with them.

:)

ive been living with my three best friends for 4 years now and we still get mad at each other and annoy each other from time to time but thats life, you can always be happy with someone your living with....and i can remeber abunch of times when one of my roomates or friends were so drunk they peed one something, it really no big deal (def gross) they clean it in the morning or replace something if its ruined. you gotta learn to compromise when it comes to living with anyone. i would much rather have a roomate that was social and maybe peed on something once thats not a toliet(and then cleaned it or replaced it after) than a roomate that just laid around playing world of warcraft all day. So hes my story, my frosh year i was ramdomly place with a guy named pat. really nice kid but he was so anti-social and unclean that it got really really annoying. he would serious lay in his bed with his laptop on his chest and play world of warcraft all day. he would always have his blind closed and rarely took showers and cleaned his side of the room. whenever i had people over he was rude and unfriendly. i have about a million stories to tell about this kid but to keep it simple, i would rather have an outgoin roomate that is clean and respectful, but maybe pees on something than what i had to deal with freshman year. sometimes its worse to have a roomate that is always there than someone that goes out and parties.

I have done 2 CPs, and I had 1 great experience and one horrible experience. On my first program, I lived in a 2 bedroom, so there were 3 other girls in the apartment. We all got along really well and the only thing that we ever really argued about was who would take out the trash. My second program, I went for a 4 bedroom. I was living with my 2 best friends, and then we had 5 international girls move in. They were only here for about 2 months, so they wanted to live it up, especially since this was their first time away from home. We constantly had disagreements about the cleanliness of the apartment and what temperature to set the thermostat at. I will say that we respected each other and remained civil and polite, but we all realized that we did not get along. No matter who you room with, always be polite and try not to fight with anyone ... it won't make your living situation any better.

dude picture that kid bigger paler and laying in his bed with food all around him and playing that stuff and talking like that....i died watching that video

heres a quick story about him.....i played hockey in college and one weekend i had a roadtrip weekend so i was gone the whole weekend and i had a huge box of poptarts on my desk like from costco so there were about 24 poptarts in there and i had only taken one out. I came back from the road trip and when i walked in he said "jonny i ate some of your poptarts hope thats cool" i was like yeah man i dont really mind its not a huge deal...alittle rude but whatever i looked in the box.....ZERO poptarts were left. i wasnt even mad i just laughed and i asked him if thats all he ate all weekend and he said yeah i didnt feel like leaving the room cause my guild was in an intense battle so i just ate them....needless to say his nickname became poptart, then evovled in to paptar cause i would slur my words when i was drunk....thats is a million times worse and gross than someone peeing once of twice somewhere they are not supposed to. not to mention his soda can pyramid with bigs on it so yeah i would take a loud parting clean person over a quiet gross gamer kid.

Yay...roomate stories! Ready for a long one? Hopefully SweaterInJune will see this and give me a hand since she was my roomate! We were Spring 07 CPs and a group of us became friends through another CP related chat board and myspace. What we all had in common is that we all applied either the day of or a few days after the application came out, had our interviews around the same time, and got accepted the same time. There were five of us (me included) getting there on the first arrival date and planned to room together. Well, SweaterInJune picked me and another girl up from the airport the day before check in as our plan was to meet up with the other two girls while checking in so we could all room together. So, the night before check in the other girl SweaterInJune and I were with chickens out and gets a return plane ticket back home. Then we get to check in and are ignored by the other two girls...so its just me and SweaterInJune at that point.

I am so grateful that it turned out the way it did, because she was one of the most incredible roomates and still one of my very very best friends. Sure we had our bad moments, but we had more than our fair share of good ones too. Its like having another sister and I wouldn't trade that for the world!

SweaterInJune and I shared a two bedroom with two other girls. Lets call them Barbie and Diva. So, Barbie we loved. She was unDisney without being antiDisney. And by that I mean that this was just an internship for her...not "DISNEY" like it is for the rest of us. Barbie went to a hospitality school back home and had to do an internship. Apparently her friends and her decided to apply as a joke...but then she was the only one who got in. Of course she didn't want to go but as her and her adviser were looking at the offer online her advisor clicked accept even though Barbie did not. Or at least thats what she claims...after getting to know her we totally believe it. Barbie hated work and missed her boyfriend and her cats, but she stuck it out. Funny thing was, she had a great job and her managers absolutely loved her and even told her to come back after she graduates for an even better job. Barbie of course declined. One time we dragged her to come to MK with us and watch a fireworks preview. After waiting until the wee hours of the morning for them to start she grumpily and sarcastically told SweaterInJune and I, "I've had enough amusement for a lifetime!". And that was Barbie.

Now Diva was one of those terrible roomates you hope you never end up with. She was selfish, spoiled, dirty, inconsiderate, loud, lazy, and did I mention spoiled? Diva was more of a princess back home and couldn't get used to having a job, as the CP was her first. In the first three weeks she only went to work 3 or 4 times...we still don't know how she managed that. Yet, "Daddy" sent her enough money to go on nice little shopping sprees every day...even though she was "sick". Poor Barbie didn't have any room left in their closet after Diva was done. She ended up self terming a couple months since she couldn't handle it.

Diva was replaced with another incredible roommate, lets call her Pluto. She was a lotta fun and instantly meshed with the three of us. Even though we had to put up with Diva to get to Pluto she was completely worth it and I'd do it over again in a heartbeat. We are still very close with Pluto. Actually, a couple of nights ago I got a call from SweaterInJune, Pluto, and our honorary roommate (which I won't even start on because thats another long but wonderful story) who were together back "home". I miss my roommates!

The point of my novel, is that CPers are a mixed bag. You seriously never know what your gonna get. I was lucky and ended up with lifelong friends...family really.

Anything to add SweaterInJune?
HI! Your story was great. I have a question. By the sounds of your story, you were able to pick your room roomie. Is that correct? And if so, how exactly did you go about doing it. My friend and I are planning to apply for Sprin 2011 together and are super excited about it. If, "fingerscrossed", we both get accepted we would really like to room together. So I want to make sure it is possible and we take all the necessary steps to make it happen. I would greatly appreciate any response! Thanks so much! Have a Magical Day!

haha. roommate stories. i have 238579 but i won't talk about them all.

So I met my in-room roommate on facebook group and we were pretty much exactly alike so we met up there, stood in line together and got a 2 bedroom at Vista. The other 2 girls aren't there yet, so we pick a room and about an hour later a girl comes in. We'll call her Grumpy. She's talking on her cell phone and barely acknowledges us as she's describing the place to what seems to be her mom...okay then...... well a little later the other girl comes in. We'll call her Princess. She actually seems really cool at first..she's saying she's gonna bake and cook all the time for us and anyone else, seems outgoing, blah blah. She actually speaks like 4 languages which is cool. Well long story short, as the days went on Grumpy seemed ok too and i got along with her fine, but Princess started to seem kinda odd/spoiled (got whatever she wanted and talked about all her stuff all the time...like I cared), but I never really had a problem with her. Well one day I come home from work and she's packing her bags. I'm like where are u going?? (this was about 2-3 weeks into the program). I noticed she hadn't been talking much to me the past few days, but I didn't think much of it. She said "I'm not gonna live with someone who's calling me an anorexic b**ch behind my back.."

...........whaaaaaaaaaat???:confused3

I'm like what in world are u talking about? She's goin on about how some girl named Danna said I was talking trash to her about Princess. Um, I don't even know a Dana, plus I'm not a mean person like that. She wouldn't listen to me so I was like whatever I don't wanna live with a crazy person anyways. She moved out the next morning to another apt.

We got a new roommate who I met through friends who hated her roommates so she came to live with us. She said she was clean. wrong. so messy, but very nice. We'll call her Messy. Well Grumpy was also very spoiled and got everything she wanted. Her parents were doctor and an architect and sent her money every week to go on shopping sprees. She was just there for something to do. Had actually never been to Disney before and hated her job. Well she was always very mean to Messy and Messy never stood up for herself. Grumpy said I was the only cool roommate, but I was starting to not like her attitude. So finally near the end of the program she was calling Messy a fat slob again and I told her off. I have not heard from Grumpy or Princess since the program ended.

But my in-room roommate and Messy still talk and I'm actually flying out to see my roommate this summer for 10 days =] So the point of the story is, u may end up with wonderful and horrible roommates haha. But it's definitely a learning experience:)

I was in a 1 bedroom in Chatham for my last program. I had met my roommate on facebook & we had almost all the same answers for the roommate surveys we posted. We met up the night before & she seemed cool, so we decided to be roommates & to meet at Vista the next morning cuz we hadn't done the roommate matching thing. We hung out on our days off the first few weeks. We had also been spending alot of time with the guys who lived next door to us. She brought home a guy one night. I ended up going next door, but I wanted to go to bed, so I went back to my apartment & fell asleep on the couch. She got pissed at me for telling the neighbor she had brought a guy home (She had a thing for the neighbor). I ended up sleeping on the couch alot cuz I had hurt my back at work & it felt better to sleep on the couch instead of my bed. She said that was fine with her once I explained why. We both extended & decided to stay roommates since we mostly got along. Eventually, it got to the point where she rarely came back to the apartment & I never really asked where she was staying instead.

The only problem I had was she said she wanted to go to culinary school, but she burnt everything she cooked & never cleaned up. I had also just cleaned the kitchen one day before work & she came home, cooked & didn't clean up. We had inspections the next day & I didn't get home to see the mess until after they had inspected our apartment. We ended up not passing the inspection & getting charged $25 for them to clean it for us.

Wow this has been really informative. I'm leaving on June 7th for Fall Advantage Merch, and have already met one of my roommates through the "roommate notification" I hope I end up having a good roommate story to tell you guys in a year :)

Well I have great stories to tell ya about roommates. Over the 9 months and two program's that I did I had almost 15 roommates and lived in three different apartments. The first set of six that I had we all got along minus one. She was discusting, we woke up one morning to dirty female products everywhere in the bathroom after we had all gone to bed. We all pretty much went balistic on her. So off to the front desk and out she goes. The one more roommate decides that she isnt the type to live in Disney, so out she goes. Both roommates that moved in were AMAZING we LOVE LOVE LOVED THEM.Move onto the next program and three of us from our last apartment move into
another apartment with three girls who turned out to be the next best thing to the girls that went home. They were awesome and we all got along. Vista ended up moving us into another apartment and one girl got termed at work. She moved out and in came Doofus. She came in the first day and we hated her from the beginning. She ended up screwing all of us over a bunch of times. That was my housing situtation in a nutshell. LOL. I loved all but 3 of my roommates over my whole program. If your laid back about things and talk things through with eachother you shouldnt have a problem. Just remember your not going to like everyone you meet/live with just make the best of the situtation. Good luck!
