Roomate ? and check in

My daughter and her cousin both got accepted and are set to check in the same date. They want to room together. I understand that if they stand in line together that morning of check in they can get their room set up together at least for them to be in an apartment together with other girls. Is that all there is to it or are they supposed to fill out something?

10 days before their check-in date, DORMS will become available. They can request to room together and then say they want the rest of their roommates (whichever amount they decided on) to be random and then Disney will match them up with other girls that have said they want to randomize their roommate selection. If they don't fill out DORMS, then yes, they have to be standing with each other at check-in.

My roommates and I are going through this right now. We just lost 2 of our roommates, one to another apartment with people she already knew and one has decided she can't do the program. We don't want to just have a 4 person ($$$), so if we can't find someone by then, we'll just randomize the final 2 and have them share a room, while we split up the other 2.

As the previous poster said, they have changed it to where you connect with the roommates you want via DORMS a few days before checkin. It's easy and convenient. However, be aware, that if they're going to be the only 2, they may get put in a 4 person or 6 person apartment.

I connected with 3 pre-made friends/roommates and we went to check in and found out we were given a 6 person apartment and had 2 Australian roommates. They were awesome, just an FYI that it could happen. However, if the two are connected they will be roomed in the same apartment, they won't be split up.
