We're planning a trip next May. I've searched this board and many other internet sites trying to decide on a place to stay... I'm so overwhelmed!!
We'll be going to both WDW, Universal and SeaWorld. So I'm looking for a location sort of in between. Want something not too expensive --'cause I figure we won't be spending much time in the room, and with a refrigerator so we can save some $$ on meals. I've been considering Hawthorn Suites (not even sure which one out of the 3 or 4 in Orlando).
Any suggestions or ideas?

I would suggest a good location for you, which is fairly equi-distant to all 3 places you mention, is the Lake Buena Vista/Downtown Disney area. You're very close to both WDW and Seaworld, and only about 10 minutes or so from Universal.

As for rooms with fridges, thats going to be a matter of surfing a few hotel booking websites. A couple in that area that I know do supply a fridge are the Comfort Inn and the Sierra Suites at LBV. The Comfort Inn should also fit your need for something not too fancy/expensive.

There is a Hawthorn suites at LBV too, and according to THIS LINK, all rooms have a fridge and pretty much a full kitchen.

Hope this helps !

now if you are going to spend more time at WDW then DD/lbv is a fine location

however if you are going to be spending equal time at SW, US/IOA, and WDW - then go for something close to SW - it is pretty much in the middle between WDW and US/IOA.

I like HGVC - Hilton Grand Vacation CLub, there is a Reniassuance, and Hilton, plus anything that say Seaworld will also be pretty close.

Although we haven't stayed here yet, we heard many good things about Cypress Pointe. Hotelkingdom has an awesome price for this place, for all the amenities it includes.
It is very close to downtown disney.
Tripadvisor.com also had many comments on this place, which overall were very positive. On their website it is under Sunterra Cypress Pointe.

Good luck in your planning.

We will be staying at Comfort Suites Maingate EAST for the first week of our trip when we go in Jan. They have a fridge/micro in every room. I have heard good things about this particular Comfort Suites. Go to www.choicehotels.com and check out how much it would cost for the nights in May that you are going. They also have a lowest rate guarentee, meaning if you book through their website, then find it on another website for a lower price, they will match it plus give you an additional 10% off per night.
For our Jan. trip, I booked with them for $71.99 per night, I then found it on expedia for $56.00 per night. I filled out the form on the choice hotels website, and they got back to me within a half an hour, and confirmed my rate had been lowered to $50.24 per night!
This all-suite hotel is fairly new (2001 I think) and has a heated pool also. I think it is pretty much in between Disney/Sea world. It also includes a free continental breakfast.
Hope this helps!

We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites LBV in September. The rooms have a small refrigerator and a microwave. The rooms were nice size with queen beds. They also have a continental breakfast each morning which was good. We'd definitely stay there again.
