Hi everyone,

Last year we stayed at WL, it was part of a land/sea package. Our view was great, we had no complaints. Our balcony faced the Villas and the jacuzzi/pool that's shared with the Villas. I wasn't sure what view that was catagorized as.

This Dec., we booked room only and when I asked for a Woods View (What I THOUGHT we had last yr.) they charged us a little extra. Which is ok, considering we'd get a better view.

But my question is...WHAT IS the woods view? I read another post and a DIS'ers said they saw the MK, and the otter pond, etc. Can someone clarify what kind of view catagory we had last yr. and what we should expect to see this yr. (PS...I don't know if it makes a difference, but we requested a smoking room:rolleyes: )

Any info would be greatly appreciated! THANKS EVERYONE!!!:grouphug:

If you were at the end of the south wing near the smaller pool, I believe you had what is referred to as an "outside" courtyard view. I believe they are priced as the same as the "inside" courtyard view (which faces the main pool). There are a few rooms in that wing closer to the lobby that are woodsview. The majority of the woods view are in the North wing and face the woods, where there is an otter pond and depending on the room you might see some of the fireworks or get a peek at the castle.

If you go to the WL FAQ, part two(?) you will find a great description of room locations at WL.

Have a great time!

What you had the first time was outer Courtyard. This time you have Woodsview, which is cheaper, and you requested smoking and that will be on the 6th floor.
You want to be in aroom number 6034 down to 6014 to see the FW. If you do not get a room where you can see them, there is a large window in the hall by 6034 that you can look out from.

This link will take you to the WL thread. Page 1 & 2, will give you a lot of information. Wilderness Layout has a link for instructions on faxing room requests.

Thanks everyone for all your help and info!!! I just wanted to see what I should be expecting for this Dec. The anticipation of the room views are one the most intense. I may sound crazy, but it's true...I don't wanna stare at a parking lot my whole trip...I want to see COOL stuff! hee hee...

:cool1: :cool1:

THANKS AGAIN!!!!:grouphug:  :grouphug:

FLoridaCat has it right (sent you a PM Floridacat :) ), your smoking rooms are the 6th floor on the Roaring Fork (MK side). The balcony will be enclosed that is the only problem with those rooms... Basically you will be able to see out of the top, but the bottom portion will not have the railings as your other room has, it will be solid, so if you are sitting in a chair you can not see out and down (only out and up).

As for your room last year...the smoking rooms used to be the 5th floor Villas side... there were only about 10 in the woods view categorey. When you book a land/sea package with the cruise line the automatically book you into a woods view. If you requested smoking 9 times out of 10 the hotel would upgrade you from the woods view to a courtyard view to accomodate the request (because you were on the cruise line package and they are not allowed/supposed to upgrade cruise line rooms they would have just done it and not told you :) The smoking rooms have since been changed to the 6th floor other side so your woods view room over there would be of the trees and otter pond (and possible MK and the fireworks) :)

 Woo Hoo...thanks for the info!!!:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

I can't wait to see my room! :p
