What are the odds of getting an upgrade to Concierge at the Polynesian? We've booked for March 15th-22nd, but we're on the waiting list for the bump up. Think there is a decent chance or should we be keeping our fingers crossed for some pixie dust? :wizard:

I always assume there will not be an upgrade, that way if we don't get it nobody is disappointed, and if we do it is a nice surprise. If you are on the wait list, at this point I would just be hoping I got the room period.

Is this a free upgrade or an upgrade you are going to pay for? A free upgrade at that time more than likely would be hard, you are going in the busy spring break time. There is always a chance a concierge room will open up, people cancel all them time. Just don't count on it too much, you're getting close to your date and spring break is a busy time. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: Hoping you get your wish.

I agree with PP, a free upgrade is highly doubtful, a paid upgrade is quite possible. I'd keep calling back each morning at 7:00 am Eastern time to see if there's availability. That's when rooms released from the day before reappear in the system.

I think the chance for a free upgrade is very miniscule because there are 9 non-concierge buildings, 1 non-suite concierge building, and 1 all-suite concierge building. If you really want an upgrade, I would call and see what is available, but keep in mind that you are going during one of the busiest times of the year and there's a good chance that the resort's already booked up. :)

We just booked about a week ago Poly concierge for 3/21-3/27...There should be something available I imagine if we got ours so last minute?

What type of wait list??:confused3

That's what I was wondering as well. :confused3

I remember many years ago, you could waitlist at WDW but that ended a long time ago.

The wait list for the next available concierge room I would imagine.

There isn't any such wait list with Disney, I was hoping the OP could clarify who told her she could wait list to get another type of room. Hopefully a TA has not mislead her.

The only way is to keep calling back for cancellations.

We booked a standard garden view and were surprised at check-in to be upgraded to garden view concierge in the Hawaii longhouse. This was back in late January 2007.

Quite the dusting of pixie dust for us!

Well, we know that we were definately the exception rather than the rule when we got pixie dusted during our most recent stay. I am extremely thankful to the CM that chose to pixie dust us. I doubt that they will ever know just how much we needed that pixie dust and how completely appreciated every last speck of it was.

I doubt that we will ever receive an upgrade like that again. If it never happens again, I will still be forever greatful for the one time in a million that it did! Maggie

My last trip to the Poly was Dec.6-12 of this month. We had garden view rooms booked and when we checked in they surprised us with an upgrade to Magic Kingdom view lagoon rooms in Tahiti. A great upgrade.

Earlier this month before my family and I left for the Poly, we were given an upgrade to a Club Level Lagoon View from a Garden View Club Level. Obviously that came as a total surprise which we were not expecting to happen.

So, I should clarify. lol

My aunt just announced we were going in March as a Christmas present to us all. We've gone numerous times, and we knew a while ago that this was gonna happen.

Every time we've gone in the past, we've always gotten concierge. I mean, paid for it. When she booked the rooms a week or two ago, they said there was no concierge room available so she booked two connecting rooms in another building. I guess who ever she spoke to while making the reservations said she would be put on some sort of list in case a room in the concierge buildings was available.

I just wanted to know if anyone thought there was a possibility of this happening for us. We'd definatly pay for it. That's not a problem. Sorry to confuse. :goodvibes

Makes sense, thanks for clarifying.

I'm not sure that a "waiting list" exists. I'm wondering if she booked trough a travel agent who told her that to appease her?

I'd still call back every morning at 7:00 am to check on availability. People seem to have the best luck getting rooms which were previously booked by doing that.

Good luck and have a great trip!
